Why does the game keep locking up my computer

I am playing on a Windows 10 Dell laptop and it has played fine for years…suddenly it locks up almost every time when opening your game…my whole computer freezes and I have to reboot…I have a backup Windows 10 Lenovo that seems to work fine when I tried it…From what I've read there probably isn't help to be had and I could make better use of my time with this out of my life

Oh, and I did uninstall and reload the game too
