pause during level

it’s insane that 14 years on, if you close the app, you lose the board you are currently playing. come on. even worse is that sometimes, even if you haven’t closed the app, you might go back to the screen a few hours later and it’s reloaded, and you’ve lost too!

there should be a ‘pause game’ button that lets you save your progress whilst in the middle of a level and quit the app— or at least have the app closed (not quit) WITHOUT a time limit. it’s frustrating being in the middle of a streak and having to stop playing for a few hours whilst you’re at work, to then come back at lunch time and be back on the map screen, when you actually had 13 moves left on the board.

this can’t be too much to ask, can it!

and please note i do not mean saving which level you’re on! i mean saving the BOARD you’re in the middle of

I have managed to keep my board for long periods while I keep the game open without losing the board. I wonder if there might be a link to which device you are playing on and what sleep settings you have set for your device.

oh that’s interesting! i didn’t know that was even possible… i’m jealous 😭😭

i play on an iPhone 13 pro (always the latest iOS). my phone is always on low power mode (which automatically toggles all ‘background app refresh’ settings to OFF) and there’s no similar issues with any of my other apps.
