By any chance, did you open a secondary device for any reason while playing the challenge on a different device? The Candy Team informed that this would be one of the causes for the Candy Royale to misbehave😕
If that is not what happened, I would suggest you to send a complaint to the King Player Support team and find out what happened. Also, see if they can give you any compensation!
Would you need help with sending your complaint? If so, I need to know which device you are using to play the game.
