I see all the complaints but everything still looks fine to me. The font is different but easier for me to read the numbers. Things appear okay on my Win apps, browsers and mobile phone.
When the font has been changed some of the times before I have had problems but none this time. We all play on so many different models of devices, there are so many. Things will get straightened out.
@QueenB If you missed my comment earlier in this thread I am really not happy that the Lettering is so big that now my name does not fit onto the screen when I am top of the Weekly Contest leaderboard. So I was forced by this to change my name from "Christine" to "Wupp" just because I was being shortened to "Christi" which has some strong religious connotations and is just not acceptable. They need to make the letters fit!
Hei Christine, I was sure I had replied back to you, but looks like I forgot 😥
I did see your comment and have reported it so the team is looking on how to correct this 🫡
Talking about names, I still have 13 friends without their names displayed. Well, not that there don't have a name but they are suppressed by the game for whatever reason. Their names used to be there.
I also have a few of those nameless friends @quekkc, but I thought they just hadn't bothered to fill one in. I have noticed something similar as well on my weekly race: There are some players with the title "Firstname", have you any thoughts on that?
I sometimes see some of the names in the Weekly Contest replaced with 'Firstname', but it's just a placeholder that appears when the player data is slow to load. If I close and reopen the Weekly Contest, those names are typically replaced with the correct ones. Same as Sneaky Melon Duck, basically, but with a plain and boring placeholder name.
In my friend list 2 months ago, their names were still there. Now that their names are not displayed but they are still sorted in the same position. That means their name are still there in the system.
My guess is that the new font doesn't support those characters. I have a few friends in my game who are also missing names after the font change. King isn't real big on testing things before they release them.
This happened maybe one month ago before the new font came into effect. The game did support the Chinese font for many years in the past. No reason to remove the font all of a sudden.
You're right. I did lose the name of the young girl in Thailand a month or so ago. That would have been Kanji. I did lose the name of one of my friends from Egypt, which would be the Arabic alphabet, and one from India, although most of my friends in India use the English alphabet.
