Wish I could participate in this (but I was left out of this event). But I do agree that it makes sense that the super color bomb doesn't make much difference on a leaderboard event. It takes a little while for color bombs to destroy candies compared to some other mechanisms due to the animation, and it's a little too efficient per level - it clears the level too quickly. So you often get to the next level faster, but don't get any more candies per level, and in fact probably often get fewer candies per level with the super color bomb than you do without it.

Nice. Still good then. I think it won't be long until you might see too many colours. I might try those levels beyond 17,000, just for a laugh.

These will be my last data for the early level ranges. Oddly they are all practically the same for each episode:
Levels 306-320 with super colour bomb gained halfway through: 60,473
These next three episodes I kept my win streak and super colour bomb:
Levels 321-335: 63,360
Levels 335-351: 63,090
Levels 352-365: 63, 990
I played these last three episodes as guided by the game: first move as proposed and then making whatever best move I could see, combos as they showed up and finished when prompted to by the game as any new player would.

This is levels 6051 - 6065 : 69,600

I'm not sure I'm seeing much difference now in any levels. These two episodes were HORRIBLE. They must have just changed them as I had to play boosters to pass even unmarked levels (with starting boosters enabled for all levels) . I'm running out of boosters with these tests, so I won't carry on now. My guess is that all levels have been streamlined now to give a maximum of around 50,000 to 70,000 maximum per episode. My guess would be that no one is at an advantage over others.

Super color bomb after first 10 levels, kept my win streak after that.
Yesterday I forgot to mention that the scores are impacted by the new fish they are testing on me. I don't play to make the most purple, just play to win. Yesterday's episodes were played poorly. Today, I got the hang of them a little bit, but it's still not good.

I took the plunge this morning and played one episode in the horrible 17,000s range, to test out how that compares:
Levels 17,601 - 17,615 : 47,970
This was without win streak boosters and some without starting boosters as I had run out of those. It's possible I might have scored better as a genuine first time player. I used 12 party poppers, 4 UFOs, 5 lollipops and a switch to pass all those levels.
As I have now depleted my boosters on the old iPhone6 I might start another test game with it to see if I can join the second chance round.
By the way I got first place in both my games. How did you get on?
The fourth placed players in the early starter group had to play four episodes to qualify. In the group I started 24 hours into the round the fourth placed player had to play two episodes. Did you hit the sweet spot with your choice of starting times @MannyFae ?

OMG Christine. Poor Poppy. My current levels are not that bad. Today's two episodes were Candy Royale, so I kept my win streak. Had to buy 15 hammers with gold as I had none, and used one UFO. I won 142 gold and completed the Shiny Hunt for 4 party poppers. Made a profit of 103 gold, Daily Win chest helped a lot. Interestingly, I rarely get the Super Color Bomb now. When I receive it, it asks for 8 levels instead of 10, but if I lose it, it takes a long time for it to appear again.

Don't worry about Poppy @MannyFae I played the account on three devices and two of them are now without boosters, but the third is going strong still. I did waste about 50 gold bars though in my tests, but that was through inattention. I'm glad you're still having fun and making a profit. Please could you watch out for any frog levels and note them down for me. I'm suspicious they are disappearing without us noticing. There now seems to be an alternate version of level 9294 with fish. By the way, on the subject of fishes, I've never seen this new version of the fishes. Sounds grim.
