I find this portion of your post ironic
surviving at the end of the map and not spending a fortuneKing believe this is not possible by the way their algorithsm work so they assume that players who are gaining gold without spending money must be using glitches as "not intended by the game"
This game is full of so called glitches created by the makers of this game whether they were intended or not. If they are not fixed why would anyone not take advantage of them.
I really do not care that I am not receiving All Stars, in fact I have suggested in the past that there should be a way to opt out of these long tedious events if you do not wish to participate.

It's just so annoying when a post won't get past the community overseers. Luckily at legendary level I rarely get this but I know it's a problem for many of you and used to be for me. I wrote only the top section of your quote, the bottom section was written by Pyrospring I believe. I think there may in fact be an opt out clause this year, judging by a comment I saw from one of the Admin staff. The whole All Stars tournament is seemingly a much more quiet affair than last year. I have seen no glossy in game adverts and announcements are much later this year. I'm not sure why. It's almost 24 to the start of the event and I still see no officially published Terms and Condition here in the community nor is there a link from the Hub in the game. It seems they are trying to keep as much secret for as long as is legally possible. I find this odd, especially since one of pre requirements to participate appears to be for players to be present in a participating country for five days prior to the start of the tournament. I am sure last year there was a lot more publicity than this.

Hello Christine, Where did you find this clause? Your observation is completely correct, last year there were 11 winners, I remember well that winner who was excluded for no apparent reason. I believe that with a good lawyer, he/she could have claimed good compensation, as it was not provided for in the terms and conditions.

To be fair I'm not sure if King didn't make a deal with her. (I think I remember it was a lady as I did read the posts, which of course were all deleted along with the All Stars thread.) There were lots of posts from this person until all of a sudden there was nothing and we never learned if there had been a resolution. If there is sudden silence it would hint towards an NDA with a payout of some sort, I thought she might have let the community know had she failed to get anything.
