I hate, hate, hate the new fish. They used to be so helpful, always 3 of them, especially when combined with a stripe or bomb. I would often use them when starting a game. Now the fish always make moves to hurt my game, setting off power ups that I'm trying to line up, or going for a jelly underneath a power up to mess up my lineup. When I would be able to line up 3 candies in a row on the next move for a helpful move, the fish will go for one of those candies, messing up my line-up. I never use them now, and I purposely avoid making them, even if it would otherwise be a good move, because it's like making a chocolate, that fish will just mess up my game. I am really surprised that there are so many people who like them
Another problem is that they are not helpful in the the range of older levels with older algorithms, meaning roughtly 7000-8000s. Those levels need some thinking and strategy to pass and they were designed without the jelly fish in mind. Take as an example level 8088, which is really hard to pass, i.e. impossible without boosters with the new low of 19 moves:
Before the fish combo played:
After the fish combo played:
These fish will not, for anything in the world, eat that sour skull. It makes no sense, as in newly written levels fish do attack sour skulls. And yet someone at headquarters has reduced the moves from 23 to 19, presumably with the expectation that the fish will help clear this level. Why do they not touch the sour skull?
The originally intended mechanism does not work with just 19 moves, no matter what you do. However, people aren't complaining about this one in droves because a lucky candy pre boosters will produce the frosting in no time and pass this totally bypassing the entire level strategy.
You mean the toffee swirls?
Yeah true. Those idiotic fish will rarely(almost never) attack them.
Here is another problem with the jelly fish: Some of the old unviolated levels of the game still have bombs. For some reason the fish are programmed to attack bomb before all other blockers as their top priority. Please could someone at HQ look into this @QueenB because with the remaining bombs being reduced to mere window dressing this priority does mean the fish are useless in a level such as this one, where players need the fish to attack the magic mixer:
As you can see the bombs here are harmless, so the fish are completely wasted on this level as they will only ever attack the bombs!
The fish accuracy is very inaccurate. You're right @christinewupp. I also have this, the fish seems to target the useless blocker instead of crucial ones. I hope the CM definitely sees this and report this to the team! I just want to change the vote, but it's fine, too late.
Hi Christine and thanks again for your detailed feedback, it's always appreciated š
You make a really good point about how the fish behave in levels like 8246.I've passed this onto the team as itās definitely something worth reviewing.
Really appreciate you continuing to call these out, thanks again š¤
