My first post here, and although I’ve played CC quite a bit over the past year, I don’t really understand/know what certain things are called (like the creatures in the eggs) or how to develop strategies. I just like crushing candies and moving to the next level to decompress and keep my mind off of stressful life events.
I’ve played CC off and on for many years but didn’t ever pay for boosters and gold bars, etc., and I never participated in the All Stars. When this year’s All Stars began, however, for whatever reason I just clicked to participate - not thinking I would get very far. Surprisingly, I did well enough at passing levels to keep making the round cuts, and then I learned somewhere on King.com that the lowest prize amount at the Live is $10k. Then I realized that if I started paying for boosters, etc. so that I could keep winning levels and place higher on the leaderboards, it would be worth it to buy boosters. I’ve spent around $700 - and that’s probably “all” I’m going to spend now with what I think I’m seeing occur in the All Stars play.
In previous rounds I would score somewhere around 800k to 1.2mm, and I had to play obsessively and spend money to do that. Exhausting.
I’m now in Final Knockouts round 2/3. I was initially 42nd or so place because I started late, but I played obsessively for about 16 hours that first day to get all the way up to first place with double the score of the person in 2nd place (1.4mm vs their 700k) so that I had a comfortable lead. That person lives in Europe and I’m in the US, so our sleep hours are different, and I noticed when I was playing they were offline. However, when they logged back in to see my score had doubled theirs, I noticed that they started playing day and night, and they passed my score by DOUBLE (they’re now 4mm and I’m at around 2.8mm). So, I thought, okay…I need to spend another 16 hours and pass them again.
Well, I could only ever get to within about 6k points below them. I’d see them playing and I’d see my score fast approaching their score, but never closer than 6k. I’m on level 4072, they’re on 3,350 - but it says they’ve won more levels than I have. My current win streak is 412 and theirs is 2. My log-in is 46 and theirs is 18. So I don’t understand how they blasted past my current 2.8mm score to reach their current 4.48mm score. And I don’t understand how it appears that they’re playing 24 hours a day now - and I’ve wondered if they’re having someone else play the game on their device while they sleep (I don’t see anything about that in the rules, though).
Am I right to suspect that there’s some sort of cheating happening here? Is there some sort of game strategy they understand that I don’t with regard to scoring higher points on each level won? It just seems that even paying $700 to buy in-game boosters and playing obsessively when I don’t have other commitments I have to get to wont get me into the Live. As I mentioned, I just clicked to participate this year not thinking it would go anywhere, but now that I’ve spent $700 and it still looks like it won’t go anywhere for me, I won’t be purchasing more or participate next year if there’s cheating.
