Failed to Make it through Knockout round

It was discouraging.

20 Minutes into the Knockout Round I was 80000 Candies behind the Leader who had somehow accumulated over 100000 Candies Crushed in 20 minutes.

How in the heck does that happen?

I suppose it was for the best. This incident caused me to completely stop spending any money trying to get through the Round.

This may be because the leaderboard was slow to fill up. Once we start to play the game, pass our first level to join the event we will join a leaderboard. There were 50 players on each leaderboard and the game will place us on a leaderboard with others who start to play roughly at the same time. If you are unlucky however you may be added to a group where the others started playing an hour before you and so their scores would already be much higher than yours. This is bad luck and it would take some serious crushing to catch up and overtake the players in the lead.
