has anyone gotten the contract form yet?? i would assume that at least the first 3 players on each board would have to provide their information even if just as a security margin no?

Ah! Now THAT explains why they have added the stand-by! I was wondering why they'd done that! It's a new feature this year, so clearly in response to that occurrence last year.
i believe the “standby player” clause did not exist last year and probably was created due to the situation with Sue! i also think king should be more transparent with what happens when a player is deemed unfit to participate in the live final and that’s why I’m asking @QueenB or anyone else affiliated with king to give some information regarding this matter. i myself am a player who placed second on my leaderboard and have yet to be asked for my contact information or been contacted in any way even after i filled a complaint with king because i believe the player who place first had some suspicious jumps on his score during the final knockout.
"The stand-by player gets the trip paid for and will have to sign all the documentation, but unless someone drops out they won't participate in the event"
"The stand-by player is an eleventh player who will get invited to LA in case someone drops out at the last minute."
I am a fan of Christine😜
But only 9 players competed in the Live Final in 2024 when I watched the promotion video of this event. One of the finalists - Sue did not appear at the last minute.🤔🤔🤔
Does it mean Sue and All stand-bys disappearing simultaneously at the last minute?
I think many players feel confused, it's due to there has no any clauses clearly explaining what would happen when the winner in a leaderboard has found any misbehaviour after reviewing his/her gameplay. What would happen in the specific leaderboard after his/her disqualification?
A player has found any misbehaviour in the reviewing of gameplay, and a player can't attend the live final due to travel issues or any personal issues are two different situations, I think.
Just to confuse us🤣
Why do they have to make the Terms and Conditions so difficult to understand? It gets worse every year!
So let's assume all ten first placed players actually prove the winner in the vetting process (unlikely, but you never know). In that case King will pick one further player to be a stand-in in case one of the winners falls ill or changes their mind. This player will be picked from any of the ten leaderboards, but what the T&C state is that King will chose whichever player had the highest score amongst the second place players in the final round (3/3) to be the stand-by player.
This refers to the selection of the stand-by player. The stand-by player has nothing to do with those ten players who actually win the contest and will be participating in the live finals. And no, that's not quite how I read it. It refers to all 10 stage 6 groups. As there will only be one stand-by player they have to try and be fair and can't pick one group over another, so the player with the highest score will be stand-by player.
The selection will be based on the highest and valid numerical score among all second-place scores across all Stage 6 Tournament Leaderboards. - - - doesn't that mean they will total the scores from all 6 rounds.
They will add the scores across all 6 boards not the scores only for the last round.
I cannot see anything in the Terms and Conditions to support that. They may have misunderstood the purpose of the stand-by player, but the paragraph I quoted above makes it pretty clear that is not the case.
that’s also exactly what i understood but i’ve seen more than one person here claiming the runner up would be the overall highest scoring number 2 of all leaderboards.
I am certain it would be the runner up. That is definitely how I interpret it and how it was in the past two years. If the runner up can't go then it will the be next best player and so on.
The stand-by player is an eleventh player who will get invited to LA in case someone drops out at the last minute. I think the paragraph in the Terms and Conditions that refers to the stand-by player makes this pretty clear, and I'm not sure why there is any confusion. The stand-by player gets the trip paid for and will have to sign all the documentation, but unless someone drops out they won't participate in the event:
6.9 Standby In-Game Winner: At our sole discretion, we may select up to one standby player (the “Standby In-Game Winner”) from the pool of Participants who placed second in their respective Tournament Leaderboards during Stage 6 (Final Knockouts Round 3). The selection will be based on the highest and valid numerical score among all second-place scores across all Stage 6 Tournament Leaderboards. If for any reason we are unable to select from second-place scores, acting reasonably, King may select a Standby In-Game Winner from other ranks, starting from third place onwards. The Standby In-Game Winner will be offered:
(i) an invitation for them and one guest to travel to California, USA during the Live Final period; and
(ii) in the event an In-Game Winner is unable to attend the Live Final for any reason, at King’s sole discretion and by invitation only, an opportunity to participate in the Live Final instead of that absent In-Game Winner.
As a condition of being a Standby In-Game Winner, they must:
6.9.1. Within the time period specified by King, accurately and completely submit a contact form providing contact details for themselves and their guest (first name, last name, phone number, email address, address and device preference) and answer supplementary questions relating to the Live Final;
6.9.2. Ensure they and their guest (as applicable) hold current and valid identity documents with at least 6 months validity as of 1 June 2025 including but not limited to valid passport, driver’s license, national identity card or any necessary visa or other governmental authorization required for travelling to California;
6.9.3. Ensure they and their guest (as applicable) are eligible and available to travel to California, USA within the period of 11 June to 13 June 2025 inclusive, including but not limited to compliance with any visa, health, or vaccination requirements;
6.9.4. If directed by King, participate in on-camera or other publicity and promotional activities during the Live Final period and/or otherwise as reasonably requested by King;
6.9.5. Acknowledge that being a Standby In-Game Winner:
(i) does not guarantee entry to the Live Final venue or participation in the Live Final; and
(ii) does not entitle them to any Prize.
6.9.6. Acknowledge that the status of being a Standby In-Game Winner may be revoked at King’s discretion at any time (acting reasonably) for negative conduct, breaches of these All Stars Rules, or any other reasonable factors determined by King;
6.9.7. Agree to comply with any specific rules, terms, and conditions that apply to the Standby In-Game Winner during the Live Final period, as communicated by King in writing; and
6.9.8. Follow all applicable requirements set out in these All Stars Rules that apply to In-Game Winners, should they become an In-Game Winner and/or be invited to participate in the Live Final.
hey @QueenB could you please clarify who would be the runner up in case a 1st place couldn’t participate in the event or failed to pass the vetting process? some different interpretations on the “standby player” clause on terms and conditions have been causing some confusion. would it be number 2 on that same leaderboard or the biggest scoring number 2 out of every board.
Hi christinewupp,
You're correct that the final knockout round wrapped up this past weekend. The message above was meant to clarify confusion, but now that we're past that point, I totally understand why it feels out of sync.
The finalist vetting is currently in progress, and the team will be reaching out directly via the in-game contact form very soon. If you've placed high on the leaderboard, please keep an eye on your game in the coming days.
Thanks for your patience 💜
Hello @QueenB please could you check up on this obviously automated post and perhaps replace it with an answer relevant to this thread? The event is actually over! Are King aware that the last round was played over the last weekend?
👋 A quick update about the contact form for finalists:
We’ve seen a few questions about the finalist contact form, so here’s what you need to know:
The form mentioned in the Terms & Conditions is only for players who reached the last stage of the tournament. If you haven’t seen it yet, don’t worry! That’s completely normal.
If you qualify far enough, the form will appear directly in your game when the team needs your contact information and there will be more than one chance to submit it.
Stay tuned in your game for updates 😉
Thanks for your patience and best of luck 🍬⭐
I'm starting to wonder if this is another "kokup" at King's end. Let's say that the first person in my group were to for some reason not be allowed or able to attend the live finals. It would then take some time to reach the second placed person, who was from Brazil, so they'd need a visa, no chance at such short notice. So by the time King have gone through those two players to find out that they can't attend they would have to contact me, and I will also tell them I can't go. And how would they contact players further down the board? Anyone who did not win might have stopped playing and not even log into the game. Something is starting to smell a bit not right here.
same here! and that seems so weird to me since last year they sent the contact forms so early on! i also noticed that previously they stated that they would reach out to invite the finalists until may 5th and now that date has been changed to the 21st on the hub. this change would hugely impact my ability to participate on the finals since traveling abroad comes with a wide array of preparation that takes time.
I finished 2nd and have not been asked to provide any information
I got third place, and no, I have seen nothing. It does seem odd since the player in second place was from Brazil and so might not be able to travel to the live finals and I would assume that the first placed player would have to be vetted to make sure she played fairly, so yes, like you I am surprised that there has been no contact. This is very different from last year.
