My plan had been to quit playing Candy Crush after All Stars. And quitting would have meant that I'd no longer have anything much useful to contribute here, because as we saw in the 2024/25 season, the game mechanics change so beyond all recognition that any tips from one year ago are already of no more use whatsoever.
Thank you to all my friends who have asked that I stay and all the appreciation you have shown. It's been a joy and much fun. I love to analyse and it's been really satisfying to get so much fantastic feedback over the past year especially.
Starting to play a few levels just to see how the game plays in this post All Stars week and I can see how much more I could yet analyse and contribute as it has already started exactly as I would have predicted: The game let me win Factory Frenzy without even trying, even though I failed levels and hardly progressed. Clearly now would be a good time to start a brand new game or to try to progress with our current games and win lots of gold bars. I might even try and test out how long the game gives me for the episode race I am in. Plus level 7796 was a hoot and fun to get through as the mechanics are still interesting. I might continue to play and try to outrun the level rewriters. It would be such a shame to quit just now when I am starting to hit on some of the more interesting levels (because they are still the old levels….)
@QueenB I do have one request. If my stand-alone threads are allowed and welcomed in this community, then so long as I keep them updated (which I now can thanks to the time limit on edit being removed, thank you very much!) is there any way I could make certain threads "read only" in the future? I find it very frustrating that often my tutorial style threads can get blogged up by unwitting comments that are off topic and once the first page is full anyone joining never gets to see the original post, only the latest comments.
