Yes, spending money will stop you from getting ads. Possibly forever. I'm sorry you've found out this way and weren't made aware of this before your purchase. And no, this is not fair. I've seen only one (=ONE!) player, who has got their ads back after not spending anything for half a year. I've seen countless players who've never got their ads back. You can start from scratch, making a new account using a new e-mail-address and never spend anything and you might get ads on that account.
I'm sorry you're not having ads in your game. When you purchase gold/lifes/boosters king won't provide ads. King likes to make money. King wants you to spend more money, that's why once you purchase ads are unavailable.

Thank you for the feedback. The video ad feature as all ads and promotional features is still a test feature in the game, which means that some of you can get Lives, while others can get Boosters or other items from this feature.
This also means that the video ads will not always be available and not found in all player's games or on all devices.
So if you at the moment are missing the ads in your game, just stay tuned and keep an eye in the game to see when the ads are back.
