Are all Petal Peril levels rigged to fail?

We all have to play them now, there is no escaping this event. We all want to get the episode race gold, so we might be in a rush to get through these horrible levels. I would be interested to hear from anyone who managed to pass one of these without boosters.

Hey @michimune What a great tip! I've done this before just to get the timed boosters but had no idea it could actually influence the algorithms like that. Thank you so much for sharing this, and of course I'll give it a try later to see if it works for me. 😉😃

They repeat in a specific order, so I know the board of your level 530 and level 545, they are same as the level 1730 and level 1745 of Christine’s

According to your theory, King likes set some challenges for players who want to keep their win streak, so the first attempt board is usually difficult than the re-play one. This can decrease the players’ gold and boosters if they want to win on first try.

What if the algorithm thinks I have failed in a level many times, but actually I don’t. Could I get a lucky board easily? 🤔
The monster levels are really hard mostly, I want the algorithm could help me a little 😆🤣
The monster levels have a bug: the plant blockers will become frosting blockers if the player has played the level several times, this means the player failed the monster level several times😆🤣

If you count the boosters in my board, you might know this is a first try not re-play and I have 20 moves not 19 moves.

If I failed all my lives in other levels intentionally before entering into the monster level and then fishing my heart there. The monster levels will become a bug version and the algorithm thinks I have failed many times here, so I could pass the monster levels in first try without using my in-game boosters mostly 😆😂

I am not sure this is a cheat or not, but it works for me😂🤣🤣🤣🤣

Do they repeat in a specific order or randomly? I keep getting repeat boards, but the one Christine posted in @PyroRanOutOfIdeas' thread I don't remember seeing at all.

Haha, I just managed to keep the Super Color Bomb until the end of an episode, and I got the same board and a very similar experience. I played with all three starter boosters as well.

I cleared the bottom left corner a bit and then set off a color bomb and striped combo at the top. I was able to win without any issues after that.

A nice demonstration on how to approach Pestilence levels, thanks. I was thinking along the same lines re Super Color Bomb. Those boards all have such a small starting space that the initial blast won't make much of an impact unless you manage to make some space first. And I love striped and wrapped combos, and if the game allows me to make them, it's a sign of luck for me.

Never tried the lucky candy booster on those levels, even though I find it generally very useful. Going to give it a try.

I think that the fourth level in a sequence might be the hardest. I also noticed that not all levels are marked as Legendary, some are Nightmarishly Hard, but the fourth one is always Legendary.

Thanks for you input @MannyFae and @KiwiBird97! It so happens I have just played one level with the super charger colour bombs. This is my starting board. I played all three starting boosters as well, including the lucky candy one.

I decided to leave the super chargers and play near the bottom left to try to bring down a striped candy from the dispenser and open up the board a bit to give the colour bombs more candies the right colour.

I got this far without setting off the colour bombs or the wrap/stripe combo. At this point I set off the combo.

It was really quite useful and created….luck? Another wrap/stripe combo, a rare gift by the game on a petal pestilence level!

A third super charger appears for me later as well:

I make the red stripe here and then the combo with the super colour bomb, so I do get to pass on this occasion. So the super chargers plus starting and win streak boosters were enough here. But don't use the first move the game suggests for these levels. I never find the hints useful. I wonder if the last level is always harder. This one was the second.

Not necessarily. I sometimes win character rescue levels without using boosters or continues, as long as I plan my moves carefully.

Here's my experience with Petal Pestilence (love the name) in a recently started game. In that game, I proceed very slowly, one episode per day, and am very stingy about using boosters and gold. I haven't spent any gold yet.

The first few Pestilence levels were easy enough, which surprised me. Then (probably on the 4th or 5th level), it suddenly became very difficult, and I was stuck on a level for maybe 20 tries. I resolved not to use gold or a UFO and lose the episode race if need be, and eventually passed with just starting boosters. The next few levels were similar. I invariably lost my first attempt, but after a struggle and wasted lives, I was eventually allowed to pass either without using any boosters (but the pre-game ones) or with the use of a hammer or two. I believe I only passed on my first attempt once.

Surprisingly, I had ads on that account very early, and I found them to be very useful in passing petal levels. I use them in this way: I watch them on my first attempt if I have a win streak (and usually still fail), and then only watch them if the game allows me to get reasonably close. If I still fail, I make several attempts without ads and keep failing, but eventually I get a good enough board to pass after watching ads.

With the general approach I am taking in this game, the Super Color bomb rarely survives until the end of the episode, so I don't know if it would help pass, but my guess would be that it's not of much help unless you get a double color bomb combo. Interestingly, at the beginning of this game, I was given the Super Color Bomb very often. I think it was given to me after 6 hours or so after losing it. Apparently, this is how King are trying to train new players to rely on the Super Color Bomb and always try to keep it.

Your experience is very interesting and proves my point that the super colour bombs are not as useful as people think: They won't help pass a level we are meant to fail. Also your experience illustrates that watching ads is not as helpful as people think: Ads also don't help pass a level we are meant to fail, and then it costs 16 gold bars rather than 10 if we choose to buy more moves.

Oh guys, these Petal Peril levels are really just there to make us spend money or waste gold bars. How do King get away with selling this event as a "fun event" and who are all these people who give positive feedback on this event and claim they "love" it? Do they actually play Candy Crush?

This is a huge factor now during the Summer Cup. Petal Peril will remain until midway through the 2nd Knockouts.
