I have a pet peeve that I'm wondering if there's a way to navigate it. I really don't understand finishing a level, then going into another app or checking a notification, coming back to the game and it says I lost the level. What is that? And is there a fix. It happens often and I end up losing bonuses for nothing.

I don't have this problem on the device I use (an iPhone) and my game never closes when I change to another app, even in the middle of a any level and if I leave for a long time, so I wonder if there is something in your phone settings that you could change to avoid this. I am afraid though that I don't know what it is. I do have "background app refresh" turned off but I am not sure if this is related.

However in general there is an even easier way to avoid this problem. You need to make sure that the app registers you passed the level before you leave it. The app does not yet register a win when you see Yeti jump up and down! I mean this screen:

It registers the win only when you see this scene:

So please wait for the above screen to show up before leaving the app. If in doubt wait until the game has moved you up the map to the next level. Then it is definitely safe to close the app and you won't lose your progress.
