In order to win the 200 gold prize players will have to play 900 levels.
The difficulty of these levels increases the further you progress along the event.
So if you are stuck on such a level, my main tip is this one:
Hold on to your boosters! Don't waste UFOs and party poppers on these levels. These levels are designed to require gold bars to pass.
- I have not encountered a lucky board or "without boosters" solution for any of the harder boards.
- I have rarely encountered any such a board where playing the right booster at the right time helped bring on luck (as happens in many normal levels).
- On some of my attempts I played multiple boosters such as a party popper plus a UFO, and still failed.
Some of the easier boards can be passed with one UFO or one party popper, so if you have timed boosters use them. But only use paid for boosters if you get so close you can see they will definitely help pass. These levels can be treacherous. They can draw a lot of gold bars and a lot of boosters out of players.
If you are trying to cling on to a win streak you will have to spend a lot of gold bars to pass these on a first attempt. I would suggest for anyone to let go of their win streaks and replay these levels until the Wheel offers enough extra moves to pass easily, and then pay 10 gold bars.
If you are hopelessly stuck and have run out of gold bars:
You are in trouble, but the game may offer you a way out eventually. Try this method:
- collect boosters from the daily spin and any other events available e.g. pin sparks, Season pass (replay older levels to get to the top) but do not use them until you have at least one party popper plus one lollipop or better still also a UFO in your inventory. One booster is often not enough for these levels!
- Once the game has given you these: Play the party popper on your first or second move to clear as many of the blockers as you can
- watch out carefully for any signs of luck after the party popper was played: look out for chances to make special candies. Once you have special candies try to use these for combos: wrap + stripe, fish + wrapped are especially good for these levels, any colour bomb combo etc. Play carefully and don't waste any chances.
- when you have four moves left : Pause and think if the game will leave you a few blockers short: if so then play a UFO if you have it
- when you are on your last two moves check if the game will leave you one move short: if so, try to figure out if playing one single lollipop would help you pass
There are three or four different versions of each board, depending on how far on in the game you are and how far on into the Music Season event you are. I will illustrate this in my next post.
There are 20 different board designs. Once you have seen all of them you will see the same boards again, but with fewer moves, so this often makes them impossible to pass.
