I joined a friend’s group but now I want to leave that group.
How can that be done?

You can leave the group only if you have customized f5 in your game. Where you can find 2 options create or join the team. You can escape of your current team by clicking either of this option.

if you don't have f5 custom team feature then you can't leave the team you're currently in, unfortunately.
if you have custom team feature then you can leave only by joining another team, public or private, or create your own team. You won't be able to return to old random teams after this.

If you want to get out of the fantastic five group. You have to either create your own group. By clicking on create group option. Or you may click on join. A list of new groups will appear and you can join any group of your choice which is not locked. Once you join new group you will be out of your old group.
