Here is my daily firefly collection update. Unfortunately, I only collected four more of them today for a total of 37.
I stayed in third place with the players ahead of me out of reach now as the best I can do is 45 levels before I reach to end of the map. I finally finished level 8845, but have been struggling with every level since and am stuck again on level 8849. This one really bothers me as I had a chance to finish the level with one move left, one jelly left, and a color bomb next to be a candy matching the one on the jelly. Well, as soon as I made the swap, it caused the candy on the jelly I needed to clear to switch to a different color and I failed the level again! To make matters even worse, I have taken so long on this episode that I have dropped to third place in the episode race, so my 18 episode win streak will most likely come to an end so instead of winning a UFO, I’ll probably just get a coconut wheel. Now, I’ve run out of lives trying to get past level 8849, so time for a three hour break from playing and playing this level over and over again. I guess you might say I’m a bit frustrated with the game at the moment...

Late update to daily firefly progress. I took my three hour break and came back refreshed and patient and finally completed the rest of the episode. I ended up with 44 fireflies, which is kind of confusing since I finished 45 levels. For some reason, I missed getting credit for one of the levels somewhere along the way.
It looks like I might end up in third place unless someone collects a bunch of the fireflies in the last day.
As I suspected would happen, I lost the episode race since I got stuck on so many levels, so my 18 episode win streak comes to an end. No UFO for me, just two color bombs. I did come in second, which was better than I thought I would do.
Yes, you were right @myheroshatie. I just needed to not get fed up and just keep being patient.
