Why is it so hard to play without the program forcing me to play only the moves it approves?
The "Candy Connections" part of the game fails to load on facebook and when I play on my mobile android device. This is what happens on both devices:

I’m so sorry you’re having issues. Did your game have an update? I’m not sure is anyone else is having the same. CCSS does that to me a lot. I have to ride it out. You should go directly to the game community and see if someone’s already inquired about it. A lot of times if you’re having issues someone else is. They’re great and will help you as much as possible. Are you playing CCFS?
No, I'm not playing CCFS. What is CCFS? I'm only playing CCS on my mobile device and facebook right now. The game hasn't been updated as far as I could tell.
No, Candy Crush Saga didn't have an update that I am aware of. I'm not playing CCFS at the moment.

The Facebook connection issue is from Facebook server. I hope you've tried some troubleshooting methods such as logging out from the game, restart your device and log back in OR disconnect your game from the internet without exiting it, wait for a minute, reconnect back the game to the internet.
As mentioned by Twingader, it's good to constantly check for new updates. The latest version of CCSaga is 1.197.0.1. I'm also playing the game via Android device.
If the issue still persist, please let me know and if you have other device such as laptop (Win10), you may download the app in Win10 or play it via Facebook through browser.

@wykoon , I have tried your suggestions and this has been happening for a few days on both my android device and my HP laptop which uses Windows 10 when I am on facebook playing the game.

I've just logged on to my Facebook, Chrome browser, HP laptop too and I don't have issue logging in and playing the game.
Can you clear the cache of your browser and make sure it's of the latest version or play in different browser?
May be I tagged our CCSaga player expert @Freddy_Falkner to give you additional insight.

@mackenzie2184 Hi and welcome, The candy connections feature is a new feature to add friends to your game easier, unfortunately at the moment there is an issue with facebook, that is being worked on precventing the feature from working correctly and hopefully this will be resolved soon. Hopefully then the Candy connections feature will work as it should and you should be able friends to your game
