purpose of UFO in level 2020?

I've just played this level three times in a row. With one move and one jelly left, a remaining UFO (three times running) has launched wrapped candies anywhere on the board EXCEPT near the remaining jelly. Why are they there?

Welcome to the friendly King Community.
The UFO booster is usually always helpful to clean the board, but we can't say for sure where it will hit after launch. In my experience, UFO hit there to clear your last jelly but the wrapped candy comes down before it explodes.

Yes this does happen sometimes with the UFO, does not do what you expect it to do, Can not give you a reason for this just know it happens with the UFO sometimes. A bit like the Swedish Fish sometimes they just baffle you

I have had wrapped candies slide down before they explode, which is infuriating, but - ya know - all part of the game. But when the UFO launches candies on any other part of the board except near the remaining jelly, which is what happened to me three times, why something seems not quite right.
