What is the purpose of the "counting game" threads?

Hi fellow candy crushers,

I am new to the community, but played the game for years (currently level 12403). I've noticed on the discussion board that there are numerous "Counting Game" threads. What is the purpose of those threads? Are they important or do you get something for participating in it?

I've become cynical as of lately with the game, it seems like the moderators always "bump up" the counting game threads. My theory is that they do this so other candy crushers don't see all the negative feedback on the new episode releases

I have been wondering about that too! Looks totally stupid to me, instead of addressing real concerns on this board, the moderators are all busy doing stupid count ups.

  • omg thank goodness! It was getting so frustrating seeing the count up thread. I am starting a new discussion board on my current frustrations, Ill tag you in it!

There aren't any counting games in the Discussion Board @itsyoonseul10 as all of the counting games are posted in the Off-Topic Board.

I suspect the reason you see so many counting threads is that you use the Recent Discussions option to browse this site.

If you don't want to see the counting threads then your only option is to browse each area of this forum separately (Discussions, Support, Ideas, Contests & Off-Topic).

The main reason for the counting threads is for people to collect reactions (Helpful, Whoa!, Sweet, Love & Haha) as these provide community points. Community points is what increases a member's level. Obviously, some people also play the counting games as a means of fun and social interaction

It is important to remember that the Candy Moderators are just volunteers and not King employees.

  • Hi Alienscar,

That is true however when you look at their recent posts, they are asking what we think about new episodes thats been released. but again it gets lost in the shuffle because the counting thread keeps bumping it off from the recent discussion screen.

  • Thank you for clearing that up for me! Yes I always use the recent discussion screen, I just think it gives me an overall view on updates on each forum. Mind you, on recent discussion screen, I do go back a few pages.

Again I am new to this community king, so I will reach on what the importance of community points are. To me personally i don't know how much social interaction you would get if you are only posting a number and nothing else. That is just my opinion though!

Thank you again for your post, It was really driving me bonkers lol

Social interaction can be as simple as thinking you are playing a game with some @itsyoonseul10. It doesn't mean you have to 'chat' with anyone.

That is true however when you look at their recent posts, they are asking what we think about new episodes thats been released.

That is a slightly different case as it @QueenB that has posted the level feedback thread. QueenB is a Community Manager and not a Moderator. All of the Manager's work for King. Though I am not entirely sure what that actually entails. I get the impression that Manager's get sent here as part of a learning role.

but again it gets lost in the shuffle because the counting thread keeps bumping it off from the recent discussion screen.

As I said it is only clicking the Recent Discussion button that results in the counting threads appearing at the top of your reading list. If you just read the Discussion Board you will not see any counting threads. I do agree with you what you are saying though the counting threads are quite a nuisance. Personally, I just like to browse each Board separately and I do this by viewing all of the posts that have 'NEW' against them.

Again I am new to this community king, so I will reach on what the importance of community points are.

I don't bother with the points aspect of this site as I find them superfluous to the way I use the site. I just read the posts and join in with any post I like the look of. If you want to post screenshots and links to external web pages, you have to reach a certain community level otherwise you can't.

Hey! Would you like to give us your opinion?
