Stopping at level 13546!!! Only 8 levels to go but I am on empty.No bonuses or gold bars, etc unless I pay for them...the thrill is gone.

I see this is a common problem on this game, used to be fun and now it's simply about FUNDS. Had a good idea and then let greed blow it away. Making money is fine but when doing it in a deceitful way then it becomes just another bogus game. Only reason I am still playing, is that reading a newspaper stinks worse then playing CC.
I remember that air balloon video but I don’t have it anymore on either of my phone and two other devices anymore 😢
Candy Crush used to do that, too, give you a lucky board after you tried a level so often it was clear you were stuck. I remember those days well, and I wouldn't have made it up into the 13,000s without that. After about three days of trying they'd just let you pass. I remember suddenly having ten more moves at the start, or lots of colour bombs popping up all over the board. This was a few years ago. I remember it was during lockdown in 2020 the game really started to go downhill, and since then it has just been getting worse and worse, harder and harder. It's as though they started to go on a warpath with the players. It's bizarre, really.
I agree not much fun anymore and I'm only on level 5707. I play other games and it seems like they have hard levels too but they eventually give you a board you can beat but not candy crush. I will not spend money to play a game. I will just quit playing the game too.

Wow, that sounds interesting, air balloon? Could you take a screenshot of that? I have played the game so much myself but never seen it.
I play on a Samsung tablet and a Samsung phone. I'm not sure about the PC. It could even be that the PC platform doesn't offer these features. Maybe some PC users can chime in to confirm. But you can still try these steps: When you pull up Candy Crush there is a tab that says My Account. Click on that. Then click on Log Out. (You can also use the gear wheel to access My Account and Log Out.) Then click Retrieve My Progress. Then click Sign Up With Email (this creates a King Account). I use a different email than the one that I use for Facebook. ProtonMail.com is a good service if you need a new email address. Now all of the things you have never seen before will not show up right away. I can't remember, but it was somewhere between Level 500 and 1000 before Sweet Cinema showed up. Conserve whatever boosters you earn in the beginning if possible. The Air Balloon randomly starts floating across the screen before you start a level. It didn't show up for me until Level 4000. Whatever you do, DO NOT SPEND CASH MONEY ON THIS GAME. That is what causes all of these lovely features to disappear. Good Luck! 🍀

I think I was on at least Level 400 before I started seeing Sweet Cinema. It is a neat feature that let's you watch short videos to win a booster (5 out of 9 tries). It pops up very often, like every 10 to 20 seconds. Sometimes I can play it 3 full rounds before it stops popping up for a bit. The boosters are Color Bomb, Wrapped and Striped, Coconut Wheel, Free Switch, and Lollipop Hammer (the Lollipop hammer is ALWAYS the last booster you will win in the round). The Air Balloon randomly starts floating across the screen before you start a level. I believe you can win jelly fish and Lucky candy as well as the other boosters, but I'm not certain because I haven't been paying attention. LOL! Anyway, the key is to conserve your boosters, if possible, in the beginning. The first 1000 levels are pretty easy so you really don't need to use them. But whatever you do, DON'T SPEND REAL MONEY! That what takes away all of these lovely features. You can earn 45 gold in The Championship Race every time you finish the Episode before 4 other players. Not sure if that's on the PC either. But I live for it. I haven't lost yet! 🤞 Good Luck!
How do you start over? I only play on PC via facebroke. I was going through my memories on there and I had shared a post 10 years ago about passing a level. King hasn't cared about the players in a very long time. Since I'm on PC I see all these posts about boosters and things that I have never seen before. Sweet Cinema? Air Balloon? Never heard or seen any of those things. I never get ads for things, only boosters I get are from the wheels in the morning. I've been playing 13137 for 3 days now and it's supposed to be an "easy" one and the only way I can see to get past it is spending money and I refuse to do that any more even though I'm going to lose my chocolate box bonus.
Don't blame you I'm on level 265 after being on level 978 with having to uninstall the game twice due to getting no help or additional moves or freebies already been on this level 4 days with no chance of beating it.Supposed to be relaxing and help you unwind what a load of nonsense I have never been so stressed in my life.
When you start over, conserve your boosters. You don't really need to use them in the beginning.
As someone who is struggling approaching level 1100, I appreciate this info. Thought it was only me experiencing this.

This happened to me as well. I'm at Level 13369. In the 9 years of playing, I had never spent money on the game until a couple of months ago. I made the mistake of purchasing a small amount of gold. I haven't seen any extra moves, Sweet Cinema, Air Balloon, nothing except the once a day bonuses. I kept trying but can't get anywhere. So I used a different email, created a King Account (not playing through Facebook at all now) and started over. I hated to have to do that. But in two short months, I'm on Level 4656. I have not lost a game since I started over. I get all the boosters, extra moves, challenges, etc. And I'm enjoying it so much more now.
All the enjoyment has been removed from the game, with the continued difficult levels in every episode. Folks, if you continue to pay it will only get worse, greed has taken over!!
I agree. On 13411 and no more fun, only money grab.
