Really? That's awful. I haven't noticed this yet because I haven't played. Can't connect to the app store at the moment so I'm having a pause with my game. I'm not sure I want to keep going if they change the way candies work. Also still waiting for them to bring back landscape mode and sort out all the glitches and make events worth playing for. In fact at the moment this game has nothing left to make playing worth the while at all.

I am not sure but I believe that I have encountered the wrapped deal (wasn't sure what to think), is it possible that it was blocked by one of the blockers that blocks the effect of wrapped candies? It has not happened enough for me to make a determination.
You can read about the different blockers at Candy Crush Saga Wiki - Fandom. I am not giving a link to it 'causing I know it is frowned on. Or if indeed something has changed well, to be dealt with...
