Hi and Welcome to the King Community
Recently a changed was made in the game to only let players play in Portrait mode (this is how the game would look like when playing on a phone). This change is also effective on Windows. Currently there’s no plans on changing this back, but please leave your feedback on the change in this discussion.
You can also find more information about the change here: https://community.king.com/en/candy-crush-saga/kb/articles/2165-why-cant-i-play-in-landscape-mode-anymore
Yes, I miss playing Candy Crush too. Not only can't I play at the table while having my morning coffee any more, but now I can't play in the evening on my knee either: My two games have been merged and my game at level 2076 (with about two thousand gold bars) has disappeared! Now both my email logins bring me to the game at level 14465 (the end of Candy Crush) where playing is no fun at all any more. I created a new login for a reason: to enjoy the game again. Now it's gone I'm not sure I ever want to play again. The game is just getting worse from week to week, judging by what I read here.
n.b. I contacted Support and there is still some hope they may be kind and reinstate my game, apparently it is still in existence somewhere in the great big Candy Crush Cloud, but they say I need a new device to reinstall it. Now all I am left with is two devices both with one impossible Candy Crush game. And they've advised me not to create a new login either. So anyone thinking they can share a device with another person and have two logins with two emails on the same device don't do it. One device one game and don't ever switch or you will lose your game forever.
I started playing this game from Facebook.
More than three years ago I decided to login the King account with email. About 5,000 gold bars were wiped out.
The same thing happened again the following year when I login with email. I lost another few thousand gold bars.
Since then, I never want to login with email again. Just stick to my Facebook login. So far switching between 2 Facebook accounts has no problem.
You need to win the events and accumulate over the years.
A good recent example is the Winter Cup where winners were rewarded with 100 gold bars every month for the whole year
The "Sugar Track" in 2015 was a good event to collect boosters and gold bars. If you had the time to collect the "Sugar Drop", you could win rewards every 8 hours.
The current Episode/Champions Race is also a good source to collect gold bars but it's getting more and more difficult.
However, the much-hated Candy Royale is more of a gimmick. You are likely to use more boosters to win the gold bars. My last Candy Royale reward was a miserable 11 gold bars. Not even enough to buy a UFO booster which cost 19 gold bars.
I did too at first, but I play two of the Cookie Jam games and am testing a few other ones out. You get where you don't miss it too much anymore.
if they ever come to their senses and fix the game, I'll probably go back because I have got lives and boosters I'd like to use one day. But if not, too bad, their loss....and I actually occasionally bought some of their sale packages, once again, their loss.
This is how I did it:
Being an experienced player at the end of CandyCrush I decided to start a new game from scratch because I was utterly fed up with the impossible levels in the 14,000+ range and ready to quit. This was in March. I knew from experience how to use my boosters wisely and not waste my gold. I won almost every episode race, which I found really easy at the early levels up to about level 1000. I think King kept giving me easy or lucky boards for some reason and being a new starter I got all the events as well. Keeping the top win streak helped win episode races and Candy Royale almost every time and this is how I accumulated over 3000 gold bars by level 2000 after three months leisurely play.
