My Episode Race disappeared this week. Since Candy Royale has never returned, it's my only way to earn gold bars. Will it come back soon?

Champions Race Scam, yet again.
The Race flag was there, but no gold bars to race for.
Had been patiently waiting, saving last week's episodes for Champions Race gold bars. It worked yesterday for the 1st episode of last week, so thought it might be safe to play the 2nd episode of the series. But to be cautious, I waited one more day, seeing the flag up, and Gold Rush on, I went ahead to hope to get both set of gold bars.
NO, not working this time. Gold Rush is actually not worth the effort, 25 levels for 25 gold bars in less than 2 hrs, that is if I have other sources to earn gold bars. (ㆆ_ㆆ)( ˘︹˘ )
I was playing on my tablet when after winning the champions race, before claiming the 45 gold bars I got a pop up to watch ads for +3 & +5 gold bars on top of the 45 bars. Some of us may have been put in a test group we so frequently hear about.
Just to bear in mind, we lose some, we win some.
Saving the new levels for Champions Race gets us gold bars, but we will have "harder" boards to complete, with less moves and/or more blockers, than the original versions.
I prefer to stock up on gold bars and have made my choice to wait.
None of my family accounts, 3 top end, 1 at 7000+, the last one at 1300+, has ever have watching ads for gold bars feature. Neither do we have Weekly Contests.
Just curious, are these features available on mobile devices only?

@MonicaYellow .Great idea! I will not play this week on my accounts and see if I get it. My issue has been that when the levels are released they seem easier the to play. They are not rated. That for whatever reason I am able to pass all levels with starting boosters only. So I just finished up the same day as the released. Will try again to not play on my main account. (Lol)
I wouldn't be surprised if King didn't actually do that with the colour bombs for the other places. If I wasn't racing against bots I'd rather the extra gold went to the other places.
Yes I did Arrowflinger. My penultimate episode didn't offer me the Champions Race, then the last episode did and I completed it 1st and watched an advert for 3 extra gold. Guessing they had removed it to add that feature. I wonder if those coming 2nd to 5th got an advert to win another timed colour bomb 🤔
Did anyone else get the option of watching ads after winning the champions race for +3 & +5 extra gold bars on top of the usual 45?
I just played my Champions Race for levels 14916-14930, the 1st episode released last Wednesday on HTML5 version ( Windows 10/11).
I used to clear all newly released episodes on the day of release, and envied other players (including my other family accounts) having gold bars from Champions Race.
That routine was changed since I learnt from here that the Race is all about racing against recordings of other players, and there aren't enough recordings of played newly released levels yet on the day of their release.
My current routine is to save these new episodes for about a week and wait for the flag to be hoisted up.
As I understand it, CCS on Facebook platform as well as on mobile devices is 6 episodes (90 levels) behind the HTML5 version. The top level in FB is currently 14870, not 14960.
By the time the HTML5 versions are released in FB and mobile, there are more than enough recordings for Episode/Champions Race purposes. My 2 other family accounts at the top end of game map playing on FB have Champions Race all these while.
I thought since I play on mobile and am therefore always two weeks' play behind the top PC users, that would explain why I always get the episode race. I assumed that everyone on mobile would have it as well. But you never know with King. I hope I'll see the flag tomorrow when I open the game for the new levels.
Thanks @cookiemae yours is the comment I am used to seeing for any player that is within 100 hundred levels or so of the end of the map. As I said I think Christine is the first person to say they have no issues with the Episode Race when they are playing at the end of the map. It would be nice to know how common Christine's position is.
@Alienscar Currently I have finished level 14,960 I have not had the episode race since I reached the 14,000. The flag would sometime appear but would disappear after playing the 1st board. Since Christine has still has it that definitely shows that we are not all playing the same game.
@christinewupp @JulesCrushit Since I have been a member of this forum (Feb 2021) there have been complaints from players near to the end of the map about the Episode Race disappearing. It used to be that those near the end of the map would get the message to start the episode race only for it to disappear once they played a level. Some of the players started to experiment by not playing all of the newly released episodes in one day. I could be wrong but I don't seem to remember the experiment helping anyone.
The Episode Race is a record of how quickly previous players completed the episode you are currently playing, so when you are near to (within a hundred levels) the end of the map there will not be the necessary completion record for the Episode race to work.
I haven't reached level 5000 yet and I already get a message that tells me that only 4% of players have made it to the level I am playing. Where you are in the game must mean that even fewer people have played the levels.
I would say that I think Christine is the first player within an Episode of the end of the map that has said they don't have any issues with the Episode Race.
Long story short Jules there is nothing you can do to force the Episode Race to appear other than possibly taking a week off playing to let other people play the levels you are on. Doing this might allow a record to build up to the extent that your Episode Race starts to work again.
I play the latest released levels for mobile user and have the Episode Race every week, without fail. If I didn't I would not bother playing any more. I hope this won't change now. There have been moments recently in both my games where it disappeared but I always got it back by trying switching off my phone and waiting 24 hours.

I am thinking it could be because you are at the top most levels, and there might not be other players to compete in the race with you🤔🤔
I experience this issue in Soda Saga... when I finish the levels as soon as they come out, the Episode Race won't show up! But, when I wait for few weeks to play the game, the Race is back on!! I am thinking that Candy Crush Saga also would work just the same!!
So, waiting for few weeks to play your game would resolve the issue🙂

We are very sorry that you are missing the ad video feature. Actually this feature is controlled by test group that is, the test group automatically determines who will get or lose the feature when.
Moreover this type of feature is not permanent i.e. you can miss the feature anytime and get back the feature again after a certain period of time.
So always keep the game app updated and keep playing the game, hope you get your favorite feature back soon.

I wouldn't play either, it's the only way to earn gold and for me what makes me want to keep playing. I'd suggest you log in and play one old level that you can pass (scroll back level 10,000) and then see if it comes back. Mine did not come back until I had done just that. My flag had disappeared, like yours.

why is it you’ve basically made it impossible to pass levels unless the player pays for extra moves??? This game has become a joke! I’ve played the level I’m on about 100 times and never came close to passing if??? Is this just a money grab at this point because it 100% feels that way!!!
