Level 1

Have to deal all this with just 17 moves. Did you dev even test the game? I bet even the dev can't pass their own game. "Game balance" never exists in King's dictionary :)

Comments

  • They don't need to test this one, it's been around a very long time. They have made some minor tweaks getting rid of the chocolate (Why do they do that? We all love chocolate, don't we?) Toffee swirls or liquorice, that makes no difference in this level, so it's more or less as shown in this video. It used to be passable when King would give players a lucky board to help them pass, as shown in this video. They don't need to test this level, they already know who will pass it and who won't, it all depends on which "test group" you're in. All King need to do to let you pass is flick the "lucky board on" switch!

    Level 1

Before they gave 20 moves. Now I only have 17 moves. And I don't understand the ''test group'' thing. So what you mean is there are many test groups and some are supposed to be able to pass and some are not?

Also, I tried to reply your comment before but it just didn't show up. I really don't understand how this page works either. 🤡

  • @Tiii Your post probably went for approval, that happens to me sometimes (there is a computer programme that does this, don't know why and it's never personal). It might show up here later.

You are right in that the moves have been reduced. What I mean by "test group" is the general notion that players do get different game boards and events in Candy Crush. Yes, King do group us into different test groups. Some players get adverts in their games and I think they tend to get harder game boards. The number of moves in a level is less important than which candies drop from the top. If the right candies drop then there will be opportunities to make combos of special candies and pass this level. Which candies drop is not random but controlled by King via the game algorithms. This is what I mean. Are you still stuck on it? I can try it and see if I can pass it in my game. When I played this level I had the older version and managed to pass it easily, but King do change the level difficulty frequently, like every week, so your version may be harder.

  • I am sorry to report that I was right about the different test groups, because I have tried this level out on both of my devices. On my iPhone I had a timed colour bomb to start with from the Daily Treat Machine, and so far have not come close at all.

On the iPad, believe it or not, I passed on my very first go, without boosters. I hadn't expected it, so I only took screenshots near the end. The first two moves I played were those suggested by the game, after that I took advantage of any striped/wrapped candy combos that came my way. With one move to go I took the first screenshot as I had the winning move there with the colour bomb/green stripe combo. The interesting point here in this game is how suddenly and out of nowhere candies other than toffee swirls came out on the two sides. Watch out for this, as it may be an indication that the game boards is getting easier and may allow you to pass. I am sorry that I have to point this out, but the game is quite obviously fixed. You will pass this level when the game lets you pass. Watch out for the opportunities. On legendary levels like this one I always play the first two moves the game suggests and then check what opportunities the game gives me. With legendary levels in the hundreds range, eventually you should get a lucky board. If you have any gold or boosters (eg lollipop) then you might want to use these if you can clearly see on the board at the end that they will help you pass.

  • Update on this one: the key to winning is to somehow get to the bottom row conveyor belt so that candies drop in amongst the toffee swirls. Whether you will succeed in this depends on which algorithm you are on (i.e. which test group), since you need some good combos to hit through the frosting to the bottom early on, especially wrapped candies.

I have three different logins on three devices. I tried this level 50 times on my iPhone6 without succeeding and then decided to give up. I tried this level on my iPhone12 as well . After buying 6 hours indefinite lives with the gold I still had in that now defunct account, on my 16th try I managed to just clinch it. I suspect that had I played starting boosters this might have happened a bit earlier.

I have played the same level on my iPad, where on each attempt I found that I got significantly more opportunities to create combos or wrapped candies than on either of my phones. I passed it twice in six attempts. Maybe this is my compensation for having to play my game sideways, they make my boards easier?

Anyhow, thank you @Tiii for having brought this level to my attention. It is one of the older levels in which King have removed bombs and/or chocolate in recent weeks. I suspected that this was in order to allow them better control over who gets a chance to pass and who has to pay out gold for extra moves. Thank you! This level has definitely proved my point and I've spent a fun morning trying it all out.

This level is hard to beat without any extra moves and booster. It's better you have booster or the win-streak to play this level. I play this level seven times without anything and can't pass at all.

Hey! Would you like to give us your opinion?
