You have to pass some challenges to receive gold.
Through Candy Royale (you have to pass levels non stop)
The events race (you have to be first in finishing the race which is 15 levels)
Candy challenges (you have to produce the required no. of candies).
Just be careful not to spend more than what you can earn.

Is there anywhere to find friends who play regularly to add to candy crush?

First open your game at the top left of your screen press the envelope.
your request will pop up. Choose friendship at the right box.
At the bottom press add more friends. You will see there the players playing candy crush.

I will welcome and help all newbies that I find. All are welcome. I remember when I joined in September last year I was lost and confused with where to find and post in the correct threads. I have an idea to add a newbie forum/thread in the welcome to the community thread. I would label it as Newbies, welcome. ๐
