Hmmmm... I am not experienced enough in CCSS episode race to reply based on my playing. But my intuition would be that, as @Kerrie said, the other racers are computer generated avatars. There is no time lag at the start of the race to enable the algorithm to find players playing the same episode exactly at the same time. Yet your very differing race experiences would point otherwise.
In fact dear friend, I have not clue... 😅🤣🤣
I think the point of vue of @steventseng would be much more valuable and interesting than my blablabla...
It does make a difference.
What is the point of having a race if you have no control over it. Might as well just reward us with some GBs when they choose to like in Shipmates/Rewards Pass.
Why do we even have this to begin with? Some might take it seriously and put their hearts and efforts on it wanting to win but if it's out of our control whether we win or not, what is the point?
On the opposite side of it, there were times where I was ahead by six or more levels then in the span of just playing one level, someone would over take me and win the race. How is this also possible?
This is exactly what happens in CCS and made me wonder how that was possible (unless the other person was playing offline and suddenly came back online.) Yet the pattern was always the same and I realised that my opponents were computer driven.
But you have 2 opposite race patterns here... 🤔
