….into believing this round would be a tough elimination round we would have to start early. I'm so annoyed with myself. I thought the best strategy would be to start crushing early. But with only 20 players on each board, then it would have been best to just wait….. and wait still?
Have any of you tried this? @Alienscar you once said you don't play at weekend…. any chance you are starting the round late? Is that perhaps giving players an easy ride? Sadly I made the fatal error to start all my test games early. I could kick myself…...
Hi @christinewupp I am in a similar position to you actually in that I could kick myself for getting sucked in to the All Stars competition. Up until now I have managed to qualify by playing my normal game of one Episode a day and not playing over the weekend. I have no real interest in the All Stars as it goes on for far too long and needs too much time invested in it to make any real progress.
Normally I don't play on Saturday, but when I opened my game at 20:00 I received a 30 minute colour bomb. I know it is a trick to get me to play, but I thought 'what the heck' and started playing. I instantly regretted it as the first level of the Episode was one of those really difficult 'normal' levels and I wasted over half of the timed booster just completing that one level. On top of that the whole Episode seemed harder than normal and I struggled on a lot of the levels. It took an hour and a half to finish the Episode and I only managed to collect a total of 65,000 compared to the average 77,520 I was collecting during the Qualifiers. I finished in seventh place. In the Qualifiers one Episode a day was always enough to always, briefly, see me in first place
When I opened my game on Sunday (21:00) I received 15 minutes of lives, so once again I thought 'why not' and played another Episode. This time things went a bit better. I collected 89,600 and finished sixth when I stopped playing.
The first place person in my group has a score of 411,750, which at my rate of scoring only puts me three Episodes behind. In many ways the Event doesn't seem that challenging at the moment and if I cared it is clear that I could be higher up the ranking if I could just be bothered/had the time to play more than one episode a day.
Hi @christinewupp / @Alienscar . I learned a lot from your postings in this Allstar tournament. I have a question for you , Did you receive eligibility form ?
I have a suspicion you may be right. Or maybe it's a psychological trick: If you think you are in with a chance of progressing to the second final knockout you are more likely to spend money on this current round. So better to keep it easy by having fewer players per leaderboard.
Except it isn't that easy. There have been more than normal occurrences of 'normal' levels being harder than some of the Super Hard and Legendary levels in my game. I see this as just another way of King trying to extract money though as the pressure of keeping up in the competition is bound to encourage some people to pay their way through really difficult levels
