Yes, as long as I continue to win games & don't let the chocolate box expire I get 40 gold bars. I let the chocolate box expire the other day & it reset me to 20 gold bars. During my first go-around at Candy Crush (I was at 9500+ in less than a year) I had 40 gold bars constantly for 4 or 5 months. But in Candy Crush-land … anything & everything is subject to change, or as they call it, "testing". 🙄

I think I have the same chocolate box you have @cookiemae . @Deryck I don't think it has anything to do with where we are on the map. I'm on level 2121 in this game. I don't know if there is any logical explanation to how King dish out different events and different rewards in the same events. I'm not saying it's random. It is possible they pick players out to favour with better versions. But I don't think there is a way for us to work it out.
I wonder if it has to do with players' current levels, @cookiemae. Maybe you're offered 30 in yours due to being so high up in the game, as an incentive. But that doesn't explain why Alienscar's box gives 15 while I'm offered 20; he's in the 6,000 levels while I'm in the 3,000s. If anything, I should get the lesser prize. I honestly think King's just screwing with us at this point. I def' recommend a smartphone (I too was behind the times for the longest lol). I can confirm your observation: the mobile version of the game has more freebies than the PC version. About the only positive to play on PC is that winning Episode Races gives the better 1st place prize (45 gold bars) vs. mobile (40 gold).
@Deryck king is weird. I never had less than 20 in my box it changed about a month ago to 30. I have also never been offered 40 gold even on the weekends. I do play on Windows 10 but I don't think that matters. I really think King has us all playing different games. I do not get candy royale and a lot of the other events posted here. I don't understand the testing either they never seemed to roll out all events to us players they test for years and it never get to Windows. I guess I should get rid of my AARP flip phone and go to a smartphone (lol).
This was the actual reason for the 40 gold bars. Mobile is at least forthcoming about things; there was a pop-up announcement that Chocolate Box would double its rewards over the weekend. Due to so many popups in the game, people tend to X things out either accidentally or deliberately without thought though. The PC app also had the doubled prize—but no announcement stating why.
Mine also reverted to 20 gold bars on Monday with the same ridiculous tasks. I kept changing tasks till it hit 0 at "Win 22 unplayed levels". Needless to say, I'm letting this choco box expire. King really should add an Abandon button to it, @QueenB
That's not true for my gold chocolate box. It started with 10 and quickly went up to 20. It then went up to 30 but it lasted only several days and dropped back to 20 for a month now.
I am going to let it lapsed this round. Stop playing for a while and maybe start with 10 again. There got to be something that triggers the 30 gold bars. Keeps winning it doesn't work for me.
@Alienscar My box started at 20 I assumed all Started at 20.i kept winning and it went to 30. I think the more you complete the higher it go's.
Agreed. The 40 gold bars lasted for me two days over the last weekend and disappeared on Monday morning. However, the last tasks stayed the same difficult: 19 unplayed - 2 party poppers - 16 win first try - 18 unplayed. I was not happy at all, haha.

Eventually if you keep winning it should give you 40 gold bars. I've never seen less than 20 so your 15 is (sadly) new to me.
