Thanks for your reply @Alienscar. I always thought you were getting email notifications, because you were so quick to always reply to tagging. I used to get the pop-up notifications before I enabled email, but sometimes they were rather easy to miss as they disappeared so quickly. I am a silly girl, really. I only just noticed the bell at the top with a 99 next to it! I have now gone into that and marked all as read and now I know what the bell is for and I will look out for it. Thanks!
I turned emails off for this site in the first hour of joining.
These are my notification settings and for me they work fine.
No emails at all just a notification that appears on the bell symbol
Actually for a long time I used to have just the I am mentioned choice ticked. This is the one that sends you a notification when you are tagged
I like your point @Estella8 about the community as well. For more than a year I have been reading all the posts here every morning, quietly over a cup of coffee in peace, not realising that in my community setting I had notifications for tagging and for someone answering my posts turned off. Last month some of my friends here in the community advised me on how to turn notifications on. I'm not even sure I like that now. I get so many emails from King, every time someone answers any of my posts, I am debating whether I should turn it off again.
If anyone in the know reads this, I can't see how to keep tagging notifications on but turn off notifications if someone just answers my post. So often people just randomly press the answer button and then write something totally unrelated to the post in there, for which I really don't want to receive an email.
you have a point! Come to think of it that would drive me crazy after awhile. I realised recently no one can message each other here except mods,etc. At first I was upset then reality set in, its for the best. Otherwise no one can really enjoy the game, they'd be constantly distracted and potenial harassed. Who needs that?
@Estella8 I really wouldn't think it would be a good idea for chat or to be able to message other players. I have over 100 friends listed in my friends list and really would not want them to message me. To me it's more of a single person's game. Just imagine getting messages from 50 friends. Lol nope
I normally would'nt like the idea but currently I wish there was a way to contact my friends in the game, doesnt have to be a chat feature. Just a way to message them. The forum would only be ok if you had your frinds list on here and people could message each other. As it is now I don't know my friends here, vice/versa. Frustrating!
