I quite agree with you there. It certainly is trying to get you to mistakenly add a friend in haste just by clicking through it. I'm not as annoyed by it now as I used to be, since I have read many posts from players who are desperate to get friends to donate lives in their game, and I guess that little trick King play on us does help some of them to get friends in their game. But yes, it's set up to trick us up into befriending these strangers.
To me, it appears to fool you into clicking it in haste. Then I have to go through the process of deleting the player from my friends list.
It is my prerogative who I chose as friends, so I find this an extremely annoying and rude intrusion on my game. The side games against friends offer lousy prizes and are only there to extract money from players.

I can confirm experiencing your 2nd sentence. But of the 1st sentence, I've only ever had the former instance occur, not the friend proposal part. I can see how that would annoy, yes!
Very interesting, @Peter_Tornaros. From your screenshot, I would've expected it for mobile. I wonder if its presence on browser version has to do with Facebook. 🤔 I do play on the Win 10 app too, though, yet have never seen the friend proposal there.
I only play on my PC browser version or the Win 10 version. I don't play on mobile devices as I don't like portrait mode.
As @christinewupp said, it has been around for months. You are lucky if you don't have it.
Really you've never seen this @Deryck? I've had this pop up in my game for months. Quite often it is someone from my friends list who supposedly celebrates with me and gifts me the three moves, sometimes it is a friend proposal from King. In fact it reliably happens whenever I fail my first level after logging in. So much so I have deliberately failed an old level before attempting a tricky new one, so I get an extra three moves.
When I don't want to befriend someone or get irritated by the pop up, I swipe it up to make it go away, or sometimes I just start the level regardless and eventually it disappears. It can be a minor annoyance, I do agree with that.

Personally, I am not in the least interested and resent my game being interrupted by drop down banners (see below) trying to cajole me into making "friends" with players I don't know.
I play the game as a personal challenge and find this practice really annoying.

I no longer seem to be able to access the 6 hour play for 69 gold bars. Only options available are buy 1 life or watch adverts to be awarded a life. Do I have to using a specific version of Candy crush to get the 6 hours play option? Thanks
