The game is not behaving as it should

There is something sinister going on with the game and I hope this will get fixed in the coming days.
Unfortunately, unless you take a screenshot of every move you just cannot catch the moment. But I am not a novice and I just played a level I should have passed and the game forced me to play on:
This is a screenshot I took after I pressed Play On. I felt that I had to, because I had already invested a Party Popper in this level. But I know for sure that in the last regular move that I had played I had had a wrapped candy explode right next to that double jelly. It should have hit it twice and removed it and it did not.
I also have the game freeze up on me for no good reason, which I have never experienced in all the years I have played.
Has anyone else here experienced strange happenings?

I think I know what happened here, Christine, as I recently stumbled upon the same thing. Judging from a YouTube video, the square with the double jelly was previously occupied by a bonbon blitz. When a bonbon blitz is activated, it becomes invulnerable until your next move. The same thing happens when a bonbon blitz is removed. The square it was in behaves the same way, and until all cascades stop and the board settles, the jelly in that square remains invulnerable. I checked the Candy Crush Saga wiki and found that this is a known behavior. I don't know if it was originally intended, but even if it was initially a bug, they won't fix it for obvious reasons.

That is awesome @MannyFae! What a great explanation, once again from you. Thank you. You are so knowledgeable about the game it blows my head off every time. I can't go back to level 16,972 to try this out since without using multiple boosters this is as far as I get (it's a joke this level, isn't it?):
But it shows you are right about the bonbon blitz. I'll keep my eyes open for this happening again on a different level.
I've made it past level 17,000 now and got my badge. Only 5 more episodes to go to the end of the map. I've halved my gold to just over 1000 bars trying to catch up the rainbow. @Carol-38 I can see you now ahead. Wait for me, here I come! I do still have 87 party poppers in the account, but these levels are so lollipop, hand switch and "one move short" heavy, the gold is diminishing even so.

On another matter, I find that latest reply to a member of your family rather odd and somewhat disappointing, especially in light of a private reply I got just today from the same person. Odd how different people get totally different replies . I guess we just get told what we want to hear.
