Well said @christinewupp and @Carol-38 Why bother helping newbies when it's apparent King is so obviously taking the enjoyment out of the game…nothing to look forward to like DFTT. Even my Gold Chocolate Box is getting ridiculous what with it changing my choice on it's own (even when I select the 1st choice).
Of course King has ppl watching this community, I've felt that for a very long time. Mention to newbies a great level to collect certain candies and it's changed not too long after. That's why I won't mention my go-to levels anymore.
Sorry for the vent and getting off subject. I just want to bump this back up top. Not that King will change DFTT back as they've NEVER done anything that gracious in the past. That would mean admitting they made a mistake! God forbid! Yep, the "sweet and kind" thing is kinda out the window here in Rhonda's house!

Look at all these complaints. Put Don’t Feed the Troll back the way it was by being able to play older levels. All these changes to the game and none of them are good.

Unfortunately @QueenB, the arrogance and ignorance of the Games Studio and those overseeing it has rendered you and all other Community Moderators/Managers redundant.
Your efforts to pass on players complaints and suggestions are just ignored. The almighty $ is now the only factor influencing the game.
So sad, CCS is on a downward spiral that will inevitably see it consigned to the Recycle Bin.

this was the only challenge that got me thru all of the legendary and super hard levels that I get now. No more joy in playing. Time to take a break. Please if anyone at King reads this give us back old levels for Don't Feed the Troll otherwise I will do exactly that and let him starve.
I'm away for the weekend @christinewupp Chichester, not a long way from you. Might log in to the Community to see what's going on, but then again I might not. You are right, there isn't much good at present to say about the game in the Community, just greyed screens, gold not being given, adverts removed, impossible levels, Don't feed the Troll changed, but King obviously aren't in the least bit bothered.
It's only possible to do Don't feed the Troll with new levels if you've got enough levels. Quite often when it came out on a Friday I had 15 levels left and that definitely isn't enough. So Saturday and Sunday for me would be a definite no no. And to think I even scrolled for ages last night ready to play.
There is so much more I could put but King have taken enough of my time today. Back to Duolingo later 😉

King has changed it so only new levels that you win count.
I agree that it is possible to do, I've often used new levels myself because I could not be bothered to scroll back to replay one level over and over, but you have to be really quick and of course you must not lose more lives than you have from friends. On the other hand, of course it is a timed event: There are two types of timed events, some, like the chocolate box and daily spin run on the real passing of time as we perceive it. Don't feed the Troll is a timed event that follows the actual clock, like our lives and our timed boosters do.
I got dont feed the troll today, and it wouldnt count the orange candy for some reason …..
