The only reason I qualified I went on a nice win streak with a hour plus left with boosters from my daily win. I ended up coming in 3rd @christinewupp.
I haven't had the chance to experience it myself yet, but my first reaction is that I don't like the change. It certainly can be used to one's advantage, and I probably will, but I would still prefer a random group assignment, I think. It's very interesting how they will form groups in later rounds, particularly the finals. Will there be a significant disparity between the groups in the final or not?
I gather that your Tiffi game started the event as soon as it started. Did other accounts join early or late? Did they start on the same day?
Regarding the odd player card, I also noticed a couple of such profiles in KitKat season events, so it definitely isn't the only one. I don't know what to make of it, but King get too many things wrong in the player cards, so I don't think they are reliable.
You are right, this is something that can be planned for before a major tournament and taken advantage of. I can see all manner of ways astute players could counter-manipulate these events now we know how King manipulate them. Yes, I did start straight away, and almost immediately afterward my other test game, which had played fewer levels and got easier opponents. I started several hours into the event with my other two games. Curiosity got the better of me: I wanted to see what opposition I would get. It so happened I managed to qualify in all four games. But it did take quite a lot of crushing to do so and I did not win a single one of those groups.
Thanks for the info. I had a faint hope that the differences between groups could be explained away by the difference in starting times, but unfortunately, it was not the case.
I found the Terms and Conditions, and King state that players will be randomly assigned to groups. I remember them also saying that about the Weekly Contest. What a coincidence that they changed the Weekly Contest at the same time in the same way.
Welcome to the elimination round of the Games! Denize will once again be cheering for whichever faction you've chosen to support…whether it's the red, ruthless Orc Horde, or the blue, bold Grand Alliance! And she's taken extra care to slap on some extra gear to bring you more team spirit!
Keep your eyes peeled open on this thread for the mysterious dragoness from Warcraft she'll also cosplay! I hear Azeroth considers her to be very important, especially when the wicked Deathwing prowls about!
