Why is my Candy Crush Saga app not working today, 10/23/24?
..and now it's back to the nonsense of before:
@QueenB Seems the team are doing something. My Treat Machine and Spin Wheel now have matching countdown timers, which differs from a few days ago. Good.
But I'm still able to collect rewards from the Treat Machine across both devices. Spin Wheel has been fixed though as it's only active once.
@QueenB First, you can inform King I've lost ~75% interest in the game and, consequently, this community now that the game no longer works on mobile for me.
The other matter is I've identified what may be another possible reason for what's causing the issue: my account no longer syncs across devices. Specifically, in the past once I claimed rewards from the Treat Machine or Spin Wheel, the timer would reset for those features. Then my other device would match the new countdown time, preventing additional collection of boosters from those features.
Now, when I play on the Win app and collect rewards from the Treat Machine and Spin Wheel, I'm still able to collect rewards from those features on my mobile device. The timer on the one device doesn't carry over to the other.
As much as I enjoy collecting crappy boosters from those features, I'd much rather have a working game. So please tell King to properly sync my account across devices again.
I'm not dropping this thread till my issue is resolved. If King thinks I'll just quietly slink into the background, they've got another thing coming.
I see one issue was finally fixed at least: my Current login streak is working again. After being stuck at 906 for multiple days, it's now suddenly at 930.
For this effort, all Friends gets lives today (when I find time), hooray!
The lag/gray screen issue remains.
Hi @Deryck I'd say make the most of it and join us testing out what seems to bring this on. I have two unsaved test games though am reluctant to try to log into my game with these as I fear King have made some changes lately since they changed the player cards that might make me lose all my boosters. I'm not sure if it still works the way it used to. Can you remind me what device you play on? Better answer in the Player Card thread though as it's more fitting for discussions than Support Forum. I am wondering how it came you were "me" on the player card as well. Did you ever choose this name when you were a new player? So many questions. I am worried they are trying to block our last way for anyone but brand new players to play and enjoy the game for free….

@QueenB The problem went from bad to worse. Now, I can't even make it past the start-up screen without encountering:
If I wait long enough, I encounter 2 options: Candy Crush app is taking too long to respond. Close app, or Wait? (which one do you think I choose😛)
I guess this is what all those folks have been complaining about in the Community when they mention a gray screen.
In a way I should thank King for breaking the game; now I'm forced to focus my attention on more important matters.

That's the only conclusion I can come to seeing as nothing's changed with my game after 2 whole weeks.
Heck, in the interest of testing I give King permission to temporarily remove all events in my game—but it doesn't seem like anyone's testing anything 'cause everything's still the same. 🤷♂️
OK then. The more time passes, the more I lose interest in the game—nowadays I'm barely completing the Chocolate Box on time. Pretty soon, I'll be tempted to just let it go completely.
Appreciate the confirmation @Alienscar. So it seems I've done all the right things and had an intuitive understanding of maintaining my device/apps.

I clear the cache of the game app fairly regularly, if not daily. Is that different from clearing the cache of the Android device itself
Yes and no @Deryck clearing the cache of the game app is what I was referring to. On my Android tablet I can clear the cache of the whole device in one go, but newer versions of Android require that you go through each and every app individually. Clearing just the game app cache is good enough unless you really want to recover memory space.
What does it mean by clearing the browsing history?
Clearing the browsing history means removing the records of all the sites you visit and also removes cookies and other site data that is stored on your device. Depending on your settings clearing your browser history can also delete form pre-fill data, site settings and passwords.
Clearing browsing history is a means of restoring memory, but even though cookies are a good thing clearing them is recommended as over time older cookies can cause issues.

Clear storage removes the game data. Only use the clear cache option unless you want to delete your game.

It definitely seems account-specific because when I attempt logging back into my game, I get the spinning green "arrow" endlessly:
edit to clarify I do eventually get in to my account. It just takes a long time and brings back the lag to other game aspects I've spoken of before.

I'm still a relative newb to having a smartphone and don't know a lot. 😳

@QueenB I had the simple, obvious yet brilliant idea…to just log out of my game.
It worked. Scrolling the map, the start-up sequence, etc. was normal.
That confirms one thing: whatever's causing the issue is unique to my account.
The unlogged-in game had no events in it, the Mr. Toffee "Sweet events are coming soon" message.
Therefore, please tell King to delete all events from my account except for the Daily Spin, Treat Machine, and Chocolate Box—the only 3 features I actively engage anyway.
If they truly care, they can test what is causing the issue and resolve it once and for all.
Thanks for the perspective @Alienscar. hmm..mysterious. I'm almost inclined to think King is forcing me to uninstall/reinstall so I lose all my boosters & stored lives. (wish there was a tinfoil hat emoji haha)
Yep, that's the same app version I now have. The UFO skin is gone, replaced by the fall skin, it's daylight in the game again (not nighttime twinkles). I can't think of what other vestige they could've forgotten to erase from the code.
…scrolling my Events tab, the only features I have now that I didn't have prior to this mess are Friends Challenge and Adventure Path. Maybe it's the latter..welp, guess in 6 days I'll find out when the clock expires. -_-
Hi @Deryck my game seems to be running fine, but I haven't played any new levels for weeks.
No noticeable lag when scroling, or sending lives in my game.
Yesterday and Saturday just gone the game completely bricked my phone (advert and gift card pop-up) and I had to force my phone to restart as it was totally unresponsive.

@Alienscar What version are you on? Last you mentioned, you were still on the old version.
If you've updated yet, is your game functioning normally on Android?
@QueenB The latest app update for the game released on Android today, and it didn't fix a thing. The start-up screen still takes forever to open. Scrolling the map still lags. Scrolling through my lives envelope still lags. Opening tabs lags.
The only time the speed is normal, giving the impression everything's fine, is when I open a level to play or open an ad to get a booster.
I won't be playing until King fixes this. Also, perhaps this has to do with the stats counter of the new Player Card? I notice my "Current login streak" has said 906 for multiple days now, despite my opening the game every day. It's not updating the count.
Whatever. Work is currently kicking my @$$, so I don't have time for CCS anyway.
Geez this forum sucks at navigating on phone. Ugh. Not gonna tag since it seems to remove the "keyboard". But I appreciate you keeping this issue in mind and updating us.
The game continues to not work properly. I discovered if I play the booster-ads or play a level, that's the only time the speed is normal. The main map and start-up sequence is no good tho--serious lag.
As @Alienscar is the only other Android player I know and, last he posted, hasn't updated (smart), who knows how widespread the issue is.
I'm fairly sure this has to do with the UFO tournament (the timing coincides) and will just have to wait till it's gone and the next app update comes along.
Started working on Saturday on both android and laptop. I un-installed and re-installed on androidbaeverak times though.
