was playing the ice cream quest and they played the old switcharoo with 2 hours left, I want my rewards.

I now have FOUR different friends categories:
‘Players who send lives’ (although 2 of the 5 on the list didn’t send any in the last 7 days)
‘Players with similar progress’
’Players from events’
‘Players you’ve teamed up with’
I don’t remember any of the names in those last two categories from any sidegames or events.
If only the studio would spend their time giving us what we need eg fewer bugs and glitches, or what we want eg scroll down button, instead of wasting time on stuff like this. I noticed last night that the daily booster wheel has been revamped. But not by adding anything that would benefit the players, like adding a UFO. They’ve just rearranged the order of the boosters on the wheel. What on earth is the point of that? A perfect example of rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic.
I also didn't have the final leaderboard in my main game, but I assumed it was because I deliberately didn't update to the latest version. And yes, I did find it odd that they were continuing to test purple collections, and also that the round started in the afternoon, and it was a 90-hour round, exactly the same as All Starts.
I couldn't tell you about late entry, I started right away. I was very disappointed I only got the event on one of my three games although all three had been through the qualifier collection. I was careful to not do anything that would in the past have kicked me out of such leaderboard events, so I am wondering if King have tightened the exclusion criteria as well. Although in this case it may just have been a matter of excluding most players under level 3000 and over level 18,000, and both my other games were playing in that range. I'm not sure what's going on. Already a new purple collection event test, and they haven't even announced the winners of All Stars yet (as far as I know). It's very strange.
It's been a while since I last saw the 'Players from events' section. I only have 'Players who send lives' and 'Players with similar progress' in both games. I'm kicking myself for not bothering to look at the leaderboard, it's clear that they are testing something new. Does the late entry strategy even work now? I need to find out, I'm not going to play four day rounds from start to end.
Looking at the levels these players are at they must be from All Stars, same as those in my "players from events" section. I did not take much notice of the names but noted down all the finishing levels and none of the players I see in either of these two friendship sections are at similar levels as those on my final ice cream quest leaderboard.
'Players you have teamed up with' section seems to appear after leaderboard events and contains players from them. In my cat game during All Stars, it had some of the players from the previous two rounds.
I would like to add here that of the 74 players from my leaderboard who I had invited to become my friends not one appears in my friends list or seems to have accepted the offer. As I am a prolific and generous life giver this seems odd. I suspect that there are changes happening with the acquisition of friends and maybe this is to blame (rather than the more unpalatable theory that all the other players were fake). I have noted a new Friends section "players you have teamed up with". That seems odd as there are no team events in Candy Crush.
I didn't notice anything other than that I was in the number one slot and an hour later I was down to number 23 when the game ended. All of these games are bogus and programmed so that you can't win.
They did give me my gold but accepted no wrong doing!

Yes, I too remember which level it was. I give it no more than a couple of weeks, now that Kingsters have started answering queries about it.
I guess that every leaderboard now has the cap, not just purple collections, because it would be simpler for them to have the same program code for every leaderboard event they run. Maybe they will change the threshold over time.

Well I managed to get the maximum of 90,000 on the first level. The cap remains and I assume it's going to stay. I remember which level that was since I'd deliberately stopped playing mid episode and forfeited the champions race to test out how much I could score with +255 moves, I only used half of those though before I hit the maximum allowed. As I also noted down the level I finished at I know that I played exactly 251 levels, which is an average of about 6,000 per level. I didn't bother to try get the most purple out of any other level after that. The boards were really hard and I lost some of my gold in the process.
Good to hear that you are having fun playing those levels. The 7,000-9,000 range is my favorite as well. I am curious about the number of levels you had to pass to achieve a 1.5 million score in this range.
A shame but don't worry, our lives are more important than this silly game. I hope it was a fun "away" time. I only noticed this by chance myself as I was sending everyone a friendship request right at the end, so I had to go into the player cards for that. I wasn't planning on doing any more major testing. But this really struck me by surprise. These levels are fun, so I enjoyed playing the event. So many purple candies! If they don't get rid of these levels they'll be the ones for next year's All Stars.
Unfortunately, I didn't play this as I was away. I could have checked the new game that had this event yesterday if I knew something odd was going on 😕

but I definitely see something wrong with this event.
I would be interested to hear from anyone who played it if they noted what level ranges their opponents were playing at. I only noticed when I was inviting all the other players to be my friends how unbalanced those level ranges were. @MannyFae or @Jumpery did you take any notes? Did anyone under level 3000 even play this event (and if you did, were your opponents similar to your own levels?). I had two other games playing the qualifying event but they did not get the leaderboard event. One of them was under level 3000. I wonder if King were trying to find out which levels need some tweeking, as nearly all the players on my leaderboard were playing original human designed levels.
54 out of 75 players on my leaderboard were at levels 4000-18,000
4 were above level 18,000
3 were at levels 3000-4000
14 were at levels below 3000
That is not representative of the players of this game. This event was fixed. It reminds me of how King fix the weekly contest by choosing our opponents in a "bespoke" manner.
OMG @Boybinary ! That is interesting and yes, certainly unfair. I agree that this event was a scam. I think they have definitely been experimenting with this one. I noticed by chance after finishing that all the players were roughly equal in experience and playing style to myself. So there is no way that player allocation in Ice Cream Quest was random. This event was fixed and probably King are experimenting with how to make All Stars even "fairer" in the future. Did you by any chance notice what levels the other players on your leaderboard were at? I only had a mere 13 players out of 75 at levels below 3000. There were no weak or occasional players at all on my leaderboard of 75. This was not random!

I don't see anything wrong here. Can you try closing and restarting the game from your end? The data may be out of date and needs to be refreshed.

why is it you’ve basically made it impossible to pass levels unless the player pays for extra moves??? This game has become a joke! I’ve played the level I’m on about 100 times and never came close to passing if??? Is this just a money grab at this point because it 100% feels that way!!!
