A participant who has excellent achievements over previous tournament is called a "seed" in sports.

Many tournaments have a special arrangement to those seeds. I think E-sports have no exception.

Wow 5 million in 24 hours is amazing. I assume when I played and won the All Stars there wasn't much interest in it. Now after all the information on this one I wish I had more information at that time even though I had travel issues it would have been interesting.

I'm not sure I like what you are implying @michimune . A score of 5,7 million is well worthy of a place in the finals. You could just as well argue that the winner was lucky because of the group he was allocated to.

Besides, there was a lot of "luck" involved in who you were up against in the 3rd knockout round: Think of the "luck" that all the previous winners had of not having to play against one another. Now we know that there were in fact six previous finalists, the odds of that happening by chance are even smaller than I had previously thought.

There is a lot of "luck" in Candy Crush and I suspect that much of what players think is luck is in fact controlled by King.

But in this case it was neither luck nor King: It was hard work. My hat is off to anyone who managed to score over five million points in this 24 hour marathon.

It was awesome finally meeting you and your beautiful wife in person. Your easygoing vibe brought such good energy to the group. I was honestly surprised (in the best way) by how welcoming and supportive everyone was, especially toward us newbies. Definitely made it even more memorable.
