Weekly Contest - Is it worth it

Came 1st, surprise surprise. Now most of us in the Community know that the Weekly Contest is another controlled feature by King and that we will come in the first 3 if our name is on that weekly list. But are the rewards really worth it. I'll never say no to a UFO, 15 Colour Bombs are nice but I get loads from the Daily Treat Machine and Sweet Cinema, it's the timed boosters that really get me. Why can't the timed boosters also be stored in our Inventory and chosen when we're ready to play, guess that's too much to ask. I only opened my game to send lives and watch Sweet Cinema so all the timed boosters I won are an absolute waste, so I won't be enjoying those rewards.

If you have read the latest article of Christine regarding many events and read it carefully in each line. She has listed which event follows your device time, which event follows King server time.

Couldn’t agree more with you all. How many timed boosters go to waste when you just log in to check something else. Completely avoidable as @Alienscar pointed out about the Season Pass. Timed side games that start automatically are another annoyance. Why does Don’t Feed the Troll do that - as if it wasn’t impossible enough already since they changed it- when Factory Frenzy, for one, has a ‘Not now’ button so you can start it when you are actually ready to play. I can’t see the logic.

I was really talking about the timed boosters, and as I said before @Alienscar you are clever, now don't cover your eyes and say, no I'm not. That's a blooming good point about Season Pass having a claim button, so surely that's something they could do in our Inventories for any timed boosters we get. That way it would be worth actually receiving them. Now what's the best way to ask for this? Not sure if tagging is working for some, it certainly isn't for me but I'll try @QueenB and hope her tagging is working. Then I can ask if a message can be sent to the Studio re a claim button being added to the Inventory for timed boosters.

I think any reward is okay @Carol-38 but if you are asking is it worth playing your game to make sure you win the Weekly Contest every week then my answer is no, Weekly Contest is not worth it.

If, by just playing my normal game, I happen to win the Weekly Contest then I am happy with the rewards, but I will not play my game to ensure I win the Contest.

Agreed Carol, the timed boosters are just a blatant attempt by King to get us to continue to play. It is classic FOMO.

I only opened my game to send lives and watch Sweet Cinema so all the timed boosters I won are an absolute waste, so I won't be enjoying those rewards.

I feel your pain Carol. It is really frustrating when you open your game just to check life requests and you are inundated with all the timed boosters being thrown at you. Not everyone wants to play when they open their game, and not everyone opens their game game to play for more than half an hour anyway. Again for some reason King seems determined to make us play whenever we open our games and they think the temptation of timed boosters will encourage us to play.

We all know and hate the official stance of once a timed booster starts it can't be stopped, but this just adds insult to injury as no one wants timed boosters as rewards anyway (not 100 percent accurate, but you get my gist). Also the Season Pass proves that King can provide not only a timed booster that doesn't start immediately but a 'claim' button that actually works as the name suggests.

It still won't change what I do Christine. Also for anyone waiting for new levels it's a waste. King seem to have got stuck with timed boosters, so they should really work out a way of them being put in our Inventory so they can be used when the player wants. Is that really too much to ask, I think the answer to that is Yes 🤨

This happens to me all the time @Carol-38 because I always come to this community first thing every morning BEFORE I play the game, and of course then for some reason or another I go into my game to check a level out or take a screenshot to post here, and every time I do this the daily treat machine fires off it's timed boosters, and on a Monday morning I get the chest from the weekly contest. So annoying! It's something we really do need to remember on a Monday morning. I'll incorporate that problem in my tips I'm working on right now.
