exorbitant costs for extra gold bars in comparison to the US

Why do I pay around 250% more for extra gold bars than players in the US? I know, that Switzerland is supposed to be one of the richest countries in the world, but so are the USA. And as we all know, by far not everybody is the millionaire's league. I feel a bit cheated here.

Living in Switzerland - as mentioned above - we are used to pay much more for exactly the same item, the same brand, the same size here than in the surrounding countries or the US. We call it the Switzerland-Penalty. But I never heard of the Big Mac Index over here. Something new learned. Maybe they invent the Bratwurst Index here one day ;-).

The Big Mac Index is an informal way of measuring the purchasing power parity. It's a layman's index.

This is not real gold bar with a global market value. I suppose King price the in-app gold bars base on the purchasing power in each country. And of course the demand from the players in each country also play an important part in setting the price.

This chart is based on the January 2024 data.
CHF topped the Big Mac Index at $8.17
You are expected to pay more by about 44% in 2024.

Whereas I only need to pay about $0.23 for 10 gold bars.

Big Mac in my country cost about $3.00

Anyway, I have never purchased any gold bar. I would rather save it to buy a Big Mac.

LootBar delivered as promised. And at about half the price I would have hat to pay if purchased ingame. good stuff :-)

Unfortunately the are the same price on every device and with every browser. But I stumbled across LootBar, which seems a way to get them at least a bit less expensive. Let's see if they deliver what I purchased

I did a quick search on Google and it showed me the price for 10 gold bars for 90cents. Where as I pay 2.49 US$ (converted from CHF)

Yes, all login with my Facebook account. Some quoted the price in the currency code (MYR) and some used the symbol (RM). Both refer to the same currency.

Hello @roma2023 I have no idea because I do not know if this is true. Have you got any information on which you base this? I'm also not quite sure what you mean by "extra gold bars". Do you mean the offers in the shop? Those are different for different subsets of players. I think it's more likely that King base the difference in price on your previous purchase history rather than your country of residence.
