Ah well bored me has tried it out with two party poppers in place of the super charger combo.
You can't swap the dragon with a stripe in a match, but you could use a hand switch of course as you suggest. You're right. In these days of using boosters to keep a win streak this method explains why we haven't heard complaints about this one and why King have not bothered to remove it. (It's still in the same place and labelled as well, as it's legendary at the end of the episode)
The super charger will remove the yellows, but the stripes should then drop in their place, and it should be possible to switch the dragon with a hand. I've not tested it, though.

This level still exists???? Wouldn't a double super charger ruin it? I thought they'd got rid of all those yellow key levels.
No, don't remove the keys with boosters! You need to clear the bubblegum on the sides using stripes or fish, and the dragon will drop in between the key and the other two yellow candies on the bottom row. Then match the key with the other two yellows to release the dragon and collect the key. Then do the same on the other side of the board!
This is an awful level….I can only remove the keys if I use a booster and the dragons then didn't drop. So frustrating.

level 8495 dragon stuck to left of exit with no way to ever get it to move over and drop. Tried many times!! Help!
Hi @ilvJim Welcome No you cannot move the dragons with your fingers you have to wait depending on your moves for them to drop out of play they can be pesky at times and switch positions in the wrong direction 🙈💓
Level 8495 I can’t get the dragons to move. Everything else works but even with using my hand I can’t move them to win this level.
