Yes, you’re absolutely right, we’re aware that there’s currently a problem affecting the ability to edit comments for some players. This has been reported to our platform provider, and they’ve confirmed it’s a known issue. The good news is that they’re actively working on a fix, and we’ve flagged it as a high-priority problem due to the impact it’s having on our community.

Yup
ContentFilter::replace(): is the function
($text) is what is being replaced and is null (no data)
Last bit is where it is failing.
Basically in ContentFilter::replace():,
if ($text != null) {
replace ($text, something)
}
Depending on the exact syntax anyway.
Generally something that should be null checked anyway but was not.
How long it will take to fix must depend on the will and the sense of urgency to fix it. Do King care enough about this community and is there the skill and workforce left to take this task on? We can see with the error of level 17,998 how quickly something can get fixed if it impacts revenue in a big way: If every single player who approaches a level gets stuck to the point where quitting would be the only option, things can move pretty fast still! We will see how far up on the priority list fixing the edit function in this community is.

I am a moderator on another unrelated forum. The main reason this sort of thing happens on our forum is because we use commercial software to run our forum, and sometimes it is necessary to update to a newer version of that software.
Sometimes a problem like this is due to the underlying software having a bug in the newer version, and sometimes it is due to the fact that our customization code for our specific site's features becomes incompatible with the new underlying software. The problem here is probably because of something like that.
If it is the underlying software, there is a good chance it will be fixed quickly. If it is incompatibility, it could take quite a while to fix, since I doubt King puts much priority on keeping this forum in perfect shape.
On some devices (like mine), the text entry here jumps around at the beginning of lines, and also when trying to tag with the at sign (which is why I never tag - it won't let me). That bug has been here for many months at least. So I am not hopeful that the new bug will be fixed quickly. But maybe since it seems to affect so many people this time, it might be fixed more quickly. We can hope.
It does beg the question: if it wasn’t broken in the first place, why change it ?
The only reason I am still here is because I can edit all my posts. @QueenB @FluffyDinosaur perhaps this fact can be used to solve the problem. My account does not face these issues. Why? If it did I would be out of here, because like Alienscar I am an absolute stickler for using correct grammar and spelling and getting my facts right. No edit would be totally unacceptable to me.

Most, if not all of us, have been impacted by this glitch in the Editor. I am able to edit posts when I am the originator; however, I cannot edit reply posts. The team responsible for the Editor is aware of this issue. According to @FluffyDinosaur, "We're still investigating it, unfortunately it seems this will be a difficult one to fix." We must all be patient until the glitch is fixed.
Thanks, you are right, they are there. I liked it better when they showed up on the main page. I'll miss them if they are hidden like that.
The notifications aren't gone, just hidden under your profile. Click on your avatar next to search and you will see notifications and messages. I don't like this change either. Looks like edit still works for me.
Something odd is definitely going on here. I can still edit though, using my iPad and magic keyboard. But all my notification messages have now disappeared from the top right of the page.

Sorry but I genuinely thought this had been fixed since that post was made! If it has not @QueenB should be notified about this. This is a very serious issue!
@Alienscar are you still unable to edit your posts? Have you any suggestions as to why this may be the case for some of us but not for others?

As soon as I got to this level it gave me an error message 'unable to win level' and kicked me out. I tried again a few times and same message. How do I get past this level? It says level needs yellow candies and no yellow candies show up so I can't even play it.
1-(the most important one) have a search bar to jump into the level you want cause scrolling from level 21000 to level one is soooo painful 2- make better game designs and make a theme for every episode added to the game and have a certain number of hard super hard nightmarish and legendary levels
