I'm not entirely sure if this is an oversight on King's part or if this is done deliberately to increase difficulty. As Christine pointed out, there are levels where you may have to slide the dragon sideways to get it to the exit, and this is part of the game. On the other hand, it's true that the game is plagued with glitches, and it has been like that for years. Knowing how to handle some of the glitches is beneficial since the situation is unlikely to improve.
Levels like this one have been around for years and were part of the intended level design to make some of the ingredients (and later dragon) levels harder many, many, years ago.
The reason why these type of levels where you need to use strategy to move a dragon sideways to an exit have disappeared from the game is this: Some of those levels were used by players to get tons of purple candies through "unfair tactics" in All Stars when they used such boards to deliberately hide a dragon in a place without an exit and play the same level for hours to score a million points on one level. That is the main reason why you don't see such levels any more. King got rid of them all to stop this cheating.
The drive to make all levels passable with double colour bomb combos then added to this and many other changes in the game in the past two years. King got rid of most levels that require players to use their brains and use some strategy and tactics, which is why it now looks as if this level is a software error. I do think that what may have happened here is that due to a patch an older former ingredients level was refashioned into an Aliens level and that is how the portal was missed. However anyone with some understanding of how this game works can bypass this error quite easily using a booster or some strategy.
The Alien Invasion event was indeed full of glitches, much worse than this one you encountered. In the initial phase there were too few aliens to pass and causing truly impossible boards. The event then got patched up twice and I guess this former ingredients level was added by mistake. If you wanted to sue King for every glitch and error in their game you'd be rich and they'd be poor. This game is full of glitches, and has been for years.
Well this is a defect of King software. I don't see why the company is so incompetant.
The alien is stuck because the rightmost column doesn't have an exit for aliens. The exits are indicated by a small alien image, and there are exits in other columns. All you have to do is move the alien to the left using the switch hand booster. Doing this will win the level.
There's a way to move the alien without using boosters as well. If you manage to create a setup of three candies of the same color around the alien that you can match, sliding the alien to the left, you will win.
Forgot to attach screenshot, Their technical glitches are frustrating. I lost my gold bars that I paid for trying to finish up this game. Fix your glitches, King Company!! We are not your test subjects!!!
Another thing I just noticed is that on the bottom below the alien, the little pink/white things are in all the columns except for where my alien is stuck. I think that is the issue. They should remove the aliens from the game since it's obviously still in the testing phase and we are making us pay for their mistakes.
I plan to dispute the charges with Microsoft since I can't pay for Cany crush's mistakes
The tech folks at the company needs to fix their defective program. I would like a refund since your program doesn't work

I saw this post and I'm having the same issue. My alien was stuck on the right bottom corner & I couldn't win the game. I used the gold bars that I purchased to extend my place. It ridiculous that Candy Crush has such a defective game. For company that has been in business for so long, they should have fixed this bug in their software.
Hi @Tia2382 I'm sorry if you have stuck aliens on a level. If there are not exits then in all likelihood you are in a no win situation due to the blockers having been removed in the wrong order. Never waste strong boosters or extra moves on such levels. If your dragons or aliens get stuck in an impossible place there is no way out I am afraid but to close the game and try the level again and choose a different method. If you are still stuck please could you post a screenshot of your board for us to take a look at. Without seeing your board there is no way we can help you.
