Tiny numbers

I must have missed something. What is the significance of the tiny numbers that now appear on some areas. They countdown and the areas of frosting or whatever is released, but I have no idea what affects them. How are you supposed to make them countdown?

Thanks, yes those are order locks. To find out what these are you could check in the Help Centre, under the header "what are order locks".

Here is my screenshot:

What counts them down is what is depicted on them. In the bottom two rows there are two types: one shows frosting (with numbers 32) and the other with the 14 on them is sugar coats. Every time you hit/destroy one of those blockers the number goes down by a count of one. Once the count is down to zero the locks disappear and what is underneath will show. This is not obvious at this stage and in some levels it's a surprise. In this level it's the frosting required for the order, and to open up the remaining order locks with the number 12 on either side.

So the sequence in this level is:

get the keys to unlock the magic mixer
wait for the magic mixer to spit out 14 sugar coats
destroy those 14 sugar coats
destroy the frosting that gets revealed when the (sugar coat) order locks are gone
destroy the remaining frostings once these are revealed after the first 12 were destroyed
destroy all the jelly and everything else on the board

This is the original version of the level as it was designed by humans who loved the game and tried to make levels intelligent and puzzle like.

For anyone else not interested in puzzles I would suggest:

Play the hinted moves
avoid destroying the mixer before it has spawned all the sugar coats (no double super charger or party poppers and don't hit too many fish)
once you have 14 sugar coats on your board bash away freely at all the blockers
pay 10 gold bars for the extra moves at the end when the game offers you 35 or more moves for 10 gold

I'm talking level 7940. They look tiny to me on my monitor, but I can't for the life of me figure out what counts them down. "Order locks" sounds like something I should know…but I don't.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean. Are they on the boards? Numbers inside boxes? Those would be order locks. But it's not clear if that is what you means as they aren't tiny.
