⚡ New: The Speed Button Has Moved ⚙️

Hi everyone,

Just a heads up!

The Speed button that used to sit at the bottom right of the game board has now moved to the Settings menu. ( game app version 1.3150).

Here’s what’s changed:

The speed toggle button has been removed from the game board.
You can now find it inside your Settings menu instead.
Once there, you can still switch speeds with just one tap so you’re always in control of your game pace ⚡

Whether you enjoy crushing candies at lightning speed or enjoy a slower pace, you can easily switch it up whenever you want.

It's not a good change because it makes us have to make two more clicks to change the speed. I want to believe they need the space the speed button used to occupy because they will add a new booster.

Ah, I see what happened! The screenshot you shared is from the Settings on the Saga map, but the Speed option isn’t there. You’ll find it only in the Settings inside a level instead.

Once you open a level, tap the pink gear icon ⚙️ on the left-hand side of the screen, that’s where you’ll see the Speed Setting.

Let me know if you still don’t see it once you check inside a level so I Can report back 🙂

No need to apologize as this kind of feedback really helps us spot what’s not working as it should.

I completely understand how you feel about the Speed button change. You’re right, it was handy to have it right on the board! The reason it’s been moved is because a different team has been working on cleaning up that area of the game, and they wanted to make space for some upcoming improvements.

I’ll make sure your thoughts are shared with them, they always appreciate hearing how these changes land with players.

About the forum issues you mentioned… those are all related to the recent layout changes. The team is aware and actively working on fixes for everything you listed, so things should be running more smoothly soon. Thanks so much for your patience (and for taking the time to write all of that out!). 💛

Question @QueenB my speed button has disappeared but it doesn't appear that I have been changed to the new settings system yet, so where do I find it. And I'm sure I'm not the only one, so how am I and many others meant to find this 🙄

Hi @nekocat I'm sure QueenB will reply to you soon but re the reply, instead of having the Reply to click on that we used to have at the bottom of a post we now have this at the top right hand side of a post

If you click on the two eyes circled that gives us the reply to a post that we used to have. Good luck 😉

Sorry for more whining but I have no clue where to address the following issues regarding the new site layout ( I feel kind of disorientated lately … 🤷‍♂️)

Reply box (great idea but to be improved): on top of the no-tag issue raised by Carol, I am experiencing on my mobile an odd disappearance of my keyboard when writing my comment in the reply box. Message " your keyboard has suddenly collapse" appears and if I follow the suggested "tap anywhere un the box to recover" , the screen freezes, and I have to get out and in the thread and … it starts all over again.
Tagging does not function neither on my pc nor on my mobile. My only option is to copy the tag needed then from another member's previous comment.
When writing on a thread, the screen keeps going back to the latest seen comment out of the blue and several times in a row . So I will need to scroll back up several times before being able to progress in my comment. I think that the rolling back to the 'latest seen comment" should be limited to the first time you enter a thread, so to once only.
On mobile phone, when I tap on a notification, I get a message "you do not have permission to do that (no???). The page you were looking for could not be foaund'"… which page I find when I manually enter the thread.

Again apologies for leaving all these on your shoulders dear QueenB. Please let me know if I need to edit my comment to transfer the last part to another thread.

I appreciate the heads up @QueenB as it is info that is usually forgotten about by King. This kind of information would have been extremely useful when the Booster Wheel got moved from the Events page.

As useful as this information is though it can't make up for the fact that this change can in no way be considered beneficial.

As other people have said going from a one click function to a three click function is not improving the customer experience.

I guess the real reason for the change is that the majority of players do not use the Speed button so they have decided to move it out of the way.

Hey @Carol-38 thanks so much for flagging this 🤗 Yes, the issue with replies (especially in sub-comments) not sending notifications is something we’ve noticed and already reported to the platform team.

In the meantime, I agree that tagging is still the best way to make sure someone gets notified, even if you’re replying directly. Not ideal, I know but fingers crossed for a proper fix soon 🙏

It was helpful, but this can be misleading especially for players who are always using the speed feature. I also realized everything is now "Click, click, click". It's annoying and wastes a tap of your finger…

Yes I agree that what this player put was super helpful @QueenB and the comment they put mirrors a lot of what I use it for too. Surely those making the changes play the game? It's not a helpful change at all, but I don't suppose it will be moved back to how it was though 🥴

That’s such a great point and I really like how you explained when you use the higher speed versus the regular one. It totally makes sense that you’d want the faster speed just to get through those long cascades or explosions!

I’ll make sure to pass that along to the team. Feedback like this really helps them understand the different ways players use the feature, not just whether they like it or not, but how it fits into your playstyle.

I totally hear you. Honestly, I get how frustrating it feels when it seems like the changes players have been asking for aren’t the ones that show up first.

The truth is, Candy’s a big game with lots of different teams working on different things so not everything moves at the same pace, and some updates come from completely separate groups.

I know that doesn’t make it less frustrating, but I just want you to know I do see your comments, and I keep sharing them with the right people every time.

This speed update came from one of those smaller teams, and they just wanted to give a heads-up about what’s new, which I think is awesome of them… It’s not the big fix everyone’s hoping for, but I still wanted to make sure you all were in the loop, because that’s what you deserve ☺️

Why? I always temporarily switch to the higher speed when I'm waiting for a long cascade or animation to finish (for example, a cake bomb exploding). Otherwise, I play on regular speed. Keeping the speed at the higher setting just makes me fail levels more because it makes me think less. However, keeping the speed at the lower setting means that I waste precious time during short timed events. Moving the speed toggle to the settings menu just makes changing the speed way more cumbersome and not worth it.

Just wondering why they're concentrating on things like that @QueenB 🤔 rather than the necessary changes we've been asking for, for so long.

Sending lives to all in one go rather than click, click click to open the player card, send a life, close the player card, and that's only one friend.

Scroll down button, my trigger thumb isn't getting any better.

Not going to mention the Chocolate Box, Season Pass or Don't feed the boring Troll, nobody listens.

Looks like it's come to years of playing, DEDICATED PLAYING, to gonna have to say See ya Candy Crush!! Level 12590 is 100% impossible w/o boosters, which I don't have. Asked for help multiple times. Nothing.

FYI the way level 9292 is currently set up, it is impossible to win without paying for gold bars or having some in reserve.
