If you ever spent any real money your account is doomed to never receive ads. It has always taken 30 minutes to gain a life in Candy Crush. It is a permanent feature of the game and the only explanation on offer is that it makes money for King as some players will pay for more lives.

This also means that the video ads will not always be available and not found in all player's games or on all devices.
