? about travel ID for All Stars

I have a question on the below item in the terms doc…in the rare event that I were to get through and receive an invite to the live final, I do not have a passport but have applied (unrelated to All Stars) I do have a real id (US). Since my passport likely will not be issued for several more weeks, does this mean that I could not attend?

6.3.2. strictly by 8 April 2026, both the Participant and their Guest must hold a valid identity document with at least six months’ validity as of 1 May 2026. This may include a passport, driver’s licence, national identity card, and any required visa or other government authorisation needed to travel to and attend the Live Final;

I believe "with at least six months' validity" is a standard way of saying that your passport will need to be valid for another 6 months past your travel date. So it doesn't mean it needed to be valid 6 months ago - it means it has to still have 6 months of validity left on it at time of travel. So if you're about to get a new passport and you have it by April 8, it should be fine for this.

Thanks Christine. I'm not worried about getting it by 4/8 but it says it must have been valid for 6 months ;-( Again, I'm not really counting on my chances of getting to the final but miracles do happen. Just don't want to waste my time competing if I'm already disqualified! Wonder how I could get a "formal" answer. Do you think if I tag one of the moderators they could confirm?

You will need to have that passport by April 8th @Jejsta123 .

There must be ways for US citizens to get a passport more quickly than that, surely. You might want to look into that if you fancy your chances. In the UK there are different application processes and fees for different speeds of issue. If you are told it can take up to so many weeks it may well arrive before that. It's the case with UK passports, our passports often arrive more quickly than we were told, but of course the US system is completely different from ours.
