What will it take to win All Stars 2026?

Here is my view on what players need to do to stand a chance to actually win the ticket to London:

You will have to save all your multiplier tokens for the final knockout rounds . Anyone using any of their tokens in the first three rounds stands no chance of winning*
You will have to be able to crush at a speed of three to four episodes per hour during the final knockout rounds
You will have to be able to crush non-stop for 24 hours from 7th-8th April
You will also need a lot of luck

Here is why even if you are fast enough and clever enough you will need a lot of luck:

There are probably 10 million or more participants.

There are only 10 places at the live finals.

This means that 9,999,990 players will fail to win any money at all.

So please bear this in mind before you spend any money!

My tips for new players:

First three Qualifier rounds ( Qualifier, Knockout 1 and Knockout 2)

Play your normal best game in the first three rounds
Do not play to get first place: It wastes gold, boosters and efforts. Just do enough to get one of the qualifying places.
Do not spend any money. If you need to spend money to get through the first three rounds you stand no chance of winning the big prize.
Hang onto all your multiplier tokens as you will need them during the three final knockout rounds.
If you do find you need to use your tokens in the first three rounds, that's fine if you just want to enjoy the event and see how far you can get. In that case: Enjoy the challenge, but please accept that you won't be able to win any big money. So don't spend any money thinking you might!

Final Knockout rounds 1, 2 and 3

If you make it to the final knockout rounds: Well done!

Note that you will have to get first place in each one of these rounds, one after the other. This is a huge step up of difficulty from the first three rounds.
Set a spending budget and stick to it. Don't spend any money during the round itself: If your budget wasn't enough you cannot win!
Be aware that around a million players reach the first final knockout round every year. You are not "almost there" at this point

Notes for advanced players:

If you read the entire thread you will confirm that late entry strategies are far superior to early entry in the early rounds this year. Everyone who entered late in qualifier 1 had an easy ride without using any tokens.

The main skill in the first three rounds this year seems to be to keep hold of all your multiplier tokens and avoid hitting the flashing 10x tab by mistake.

According to my recent tests all episodes of Candy Crush I have played at score roughly the same number of blues, about 2000 on average over a range of several episodes. The earlier levels seem to give up fewer blues per episode compared to levels 5000 upwards, but they generally play faster. This may be an effort by King to make the event winnable for all players, but the mid range of levels with more human written levels is still better scoring in my experience despite all of King's efforts to slow us down. Experience still seems to matter.

The limit per level is just 1000 blue candies.

King have streamlined the number of blues that can be crushed per minute: So I have found that if you draw out a level, play to finish it quickly or spend gold on extra moves, the number of blues crushed per minute is roughly the same, so all these strategies will achieve a similar outcome. Anyone finding the few relic levels which can still be exploited might find it no longer worthwhile with the new algorithms (fewer cascades and jelly fish finishing levels). King know exactly how many blues you should have been able to score for the number of levels you passed and the time you spent crushing, because all of this is now tightly controlled by the game and easy for the computers to calculate from player data. I therefore expect that any outliers will either get automatically eliminated during the event or at final vetting.

I would advise you to keep going to see if you can reach the first of the three final knockout rounds. That would be a fine achievement for any new player. Candy Crush is meant to be played for fun, so if you enjoy the game and the challenge of All Stars just play to see how far you can get.

Unfortunately you certainly do not stand any chance of winning the prize money or the trip to London. If this was a lottery you'd stand a small chance (like one in a million) but that's why this game is so cruel and misleading to players: All Stars is not a lottery anyone can win by pure chance.

The three final knockout rounds will be very, very different from the first three rounds. With or without tokens the competition gets so much tougher at that stage: The number of players on each leaderboard will be much bigger and only one player on each board will get through to the next round.

Enjoy your game, see how far you can get, but don't spend any money on it.

Realistically, you probably have no chance of making it all the way to live finals. However, since most good players will be trying to save their tokens until round 6, if you are able to do lots of crushing and go pretty fast, you might still be able to get to round 6 if you don't get in a group where someone else decides to burn their tokens. So while you probably won't make live finals, you might still have a chance to get to the last round, which I would consider a significant achievement, even if there is no significant prize.

As a newbie to the completion i didn't read all the instructions before start playing . And used up all my tokens in the first round. But I have being the leader on my boards and made it to the knockout round. Do I stand a chance?

Hello @elisabettmoreyra Welcome!

How many groups are playing right now? Are you asking how many leaderboards of 10 players each there are in the 1st knockout round right now? We do not know for sure, but we do know that about a million players will get to the final knockouts. So my guess would be that there are several million leaderboards being played right now.

Your second question: The round starting Monday is only for those players who fail to qualify for the 2nd knockout round. If you finish in the top 5 in the first knockout round this weekend then you won't have to play the round that starts on Monday. It is a second chance round for those who have lost/failed to qualify.

By having so many second chances King make sure that as many players as possible will get the chance to enter the next round. The more players competing the more will spend money and the more profit the company will make.

I thought so too until I tried to use my late mother's email recently to save my latest new Candy Crush game. It turned out there was an old King account attached to her email already from the days when my mother used to play Alphabetty. I had myself helped to create the account for her as it wasn't something she could have done on her own, so I knew the login details. That account had been dormant since King discontinued Alphabetty in 2021, but my player card for the new Candy Crush account which used the same King email account now states "2026". I therefore think those others probably are old Candy Crush accounts, not any other King game.

Yes, I also have the 'Friends from Events' section in my mid-range game, I noticed it during the first round. Right now, all players I am seeing in that section are those who were on my board in the Qualifiers.

Re the year of starting, I read somewhere on this forum that the year listed on player cards is the year the King account was created. If this is true, it would explain a lot of the inconsistencies and oddities we've seen. If someone started playing on Facebook and then created a King account a few years later, the year would be incorrectly shown as too recent. If someone created an account for playing another King game and then started playing the main Candy Crush game a few years later, the starting year on their player card would be shown as too early. This would explain why some guys who started in 2013 only managed to pass a few hundred levels. It seems that they either mostly play other King games or are occasional players lured back to the game by the All Stars promotion. It's reasonable for the AI to select them as easy opponents, agree with that.

I'm a bit bored this morning as two of my games haven't started and the two that I am actively playing in the first knockouts have probably already done enough to get through to knockout 2. So I'm passing the time looking at my opponents' stats. I am finding it strange that my two new player accounts (both started in 2026) are grouped only with old player accounts:

2023 x 2

2024 x 2

So no players who started within the past twelve months, which is definitely not a random selection. Also there seems to be no correlation between these players' levels and how long they have been playing. Some are below level 1000 but played since 2013. I would like to speculate that these are occasional players which have provided enough data for King to predict their behaviours and so my guess is that the app can provide my new player accounts with easier opponents by choosing these players as my opponents.

I have also noted that the "add friends from events" option is back in my games and that some but not all of the players on my current leaderboards are on that list for me to invite as friends already while I am playing against them.

Is anyone else seeing something similar? Or is it just a features for newbies?

Cohort at the end of Friday. Five episodes were completed so far in this stage. I suspect the lead hexed a second time; nevertheless the evaluation is unchanged unless four or more players from below decided to hex their way back to the qualifying zone.

Moreover, the elimination cutoff inched slightly from 2392 to 2475.

I think being a new player probably helps:

My task to beat is less than one episode so far. I started this leaderboard three hours into the competition. Interestingly both Geggen and Malia have turned up on my friends list. I also have two friends from the 1st round. This is new this year and I did not invite any players to be my friends. I think King do this on our behalf with a +3 moves from would-like-to-be-our-friend feature (probably just for newbies who don't have many friends yet). These players must have seen me in their pop-up giving them three extra moves and pressed "accept". I did this too once or twice. This way the other players seem more real and it would suggest that those players are seeing us on their leaderboards?

First to post progress in the knockouts.

I expect this one to not be any more difficult than the qualifiers, except that I will have to forgo the UFO, and will have to be more wary of those who might hex their way to the top during last three hours of this stage.

Entered the tournament at the fourth hour (13:00 EDT), easily reached first with 2314 blue planets. The second placed player, mrs p yeooo, jumped from 2314 to 42755 a few hours. And for this night he went up to 65480. The cutoff is 2392, which can be covered in an episode or two.

Some events have a cut-off time for entry, such as Colour Bomb Series, players have to enter into the competition one hour before closing.

Beware of the cut-off time appears in other Stages.

I was not following my own advice deliberately, for a reason:

I wanted to test out if it's actually still true that we are more likely to be grouped with "mad crushers" if we start early. This used to be the case when leaderboard allocation was random. But King control allocation to leaderboards more tightly now. I wanted to find out just how tight this control is.

I am not expecting the Cornflower account to get very far in this competition because it is tied to an old iOS 12 device, so I was sending it in early as a test. I wanted to see if I got harder opponents for this experienced player than for the newbie account, to find out if the other players were real or recordings, bespoke or random. That is why I decided to play those two accounts so early.

I was grouped with particularly hard players, three of them had played well over 300 levels the previous 7 days, but this was not just because I started early: The two other accounts that started equally early got much easier opponents and qualified easily by playing just the standard two episodes per day.

I have often asked here how do King do it? How do they know which players will be hard for us to beat and which easy? How can it be possible to control a leaderboard so that one or two or three episodes per day will lead to qualification?

Perhaps the system was not perfect in this case: There was one player who had only played 51 levels the previous seven days, had a win streak of just 8. Perhaps on paper I should have been able to beat him with those statistics. But when the qualifier round started "Psychodad" went ballistic and played 359 levels during the qualifier round as well as using several tokens! That is such odd behaviour even King's bots could not have anticipated it and it was probably the main reason why I failed to get a qualifying place.

At least it does seem to show that I was playing against real people, which is a relief and part of what I was trying to find out.

I'm pretty positive Star Tournament levels counted 30x last year. There was a player in the final round who led for a while near the end of the map. When that player reached the end of the map, they then slowed down in scoring. But they definitely did not stop. They kept scoring, and at a fast pace, but not fast enough to keep up with the other leaders.

No, you are absolutely right, Christine. Old levels did indeed count last year - I used them- but didn’t get the x30 multiplier so weren’t very useful except if you were stuck for new levels to play. Whether the Star Tournament levels counted, I’m not sure.

I don't know which levels those are nor if I am right or wrong about it being possible to use old levels in 2025. I didn't go into that myself at the time. So I'm probably wrong about it. It's ancient history now as it's no longer possible to either induce fast cascading nor play old go-to levels.

I am curious🤔 to no one pointed it out as this advice you have already said it many times in different your posts. When I reminded you after you lost, many players think I’m rude. But I think a player should be rational in competition not emotional 😁

Fabulous! Really helpful. This game is so dumb. And I thought King would put measures in place to thwart the late entrants this year. I guess I overestimated the Intelligence of the AI.

Cornflower got an easy ride in Qualifier 2:

This group started with 36 hours left in the round.

The other players were very uncompetitive. Laura played just seven levels with a token and then stopped. Chamomile played 47 levels. The others played between one and 18 levels and used no tokens.

Decided to register as late as possible on my new account again for second qualifiers. This time I did it with about 15 min left so there was less chance of getting unlucky leaderboard timing. Surprisingly was able to more than double the qualifying score this time! Will likely continue experimenting with this for a bit.

Oh dear, I hadn't noticed! In fact I'd already marked it as 8am finishes in my diary, have they changed this at short notice? But checking now I see that it's 9am EDT, so you are right, that would make it 2pm. It's awful, because it means we start in the afternoon, crush all night and all day. I always get up early in the mornings. I'm not sure I can do those times. I'd be too tired by 2pm.

Hello Cristine,

Since we are in the same time zone (GMT), could you confirm that I am correctly interpreting the times for phases 4, 5, and 6? Last year, the times listed in the terms and conditions translated into Portuguese were incorrect.

Phase 4 - Starts on the 26th at 2 PM GMT and ends on the 30th at 2 PM GMT.
Phase 5 - Starts on the 1st at 2 PM GMT and ends on the 4th at 2 PM GMT.
Phase 6 - Starts on the 7th at 2 PM GMT and ends on the 8th at 2 PM GMT.

It seems that last year the phases always ended at 8 AM GMT, but now they have changed to 2 PM GMT. I don't like that.

I will do the same this year if the poor sleep-deprived final round contestants have the energy to post their leaderboards when the round ends. I’ll post a request for that the day before and hope we end up with all the boards.

The idea behind the tokens is probably to give the occasional players who are often stuck on levels the means to get further on in the competition this year. It's psychological trickery. The tokens allow more players to compete for longer and get through more rounds, so that probably increases spending.

It's helpful to be reminded of the numbers and scores from last year. I also have kept all the data from 2025 myself.

However I'd be very wary to make any predictions based on what players scored in 2025. A lot of the methods used then are no longer usable. Most of the levels that could be milked have been changed or and removed and cascades have been reduced. I am pretty certain there were methods last year that involved playing older levels and playing offline which are no longer applicable.

What will happen in the final knockout rounds is wide open to our speculation. If as many hopefuls qualify for these rounds by playing their multiplier tokens as King would hope there is a small possibility it would water down the leaderboards by inclusion of players not fast enough in the sprint to compete with the best (and probably out of tokens by then). In theory this might make it easier for the best players to get through to the last round. But this is very hypothetical. Those rounds might be manipulated by King's methods of how players are assigned to the different groups. The methods used for player assignment to leaderboards have obviously changed in the past twelve months. So much of the outcome could be controlled by King's computers rather than pure luck or strategy.

I wanted to throw around some numbers. It’s just food for thought and can I interpreted in different ways

Just before I sent the post with leaderboards, I replied to Christine and declared my original intention was to join stages 4 and 5 later in the competition. However because of the introduction of multiplier tokens I think late entry is a bad idea. That being said due to work commitments I may only be limited to later entries.

I wanted to highlight that even previous live contestants (even the mighty Ken) are at risk and might have to use 1 or 2 tokens to get to stage 6.

I know Giggs and Hayden have used this forum. Other live contestants maybe not done the calculations and join stage 5 later and don’t have required time to catch up without using tokens.

So it would appear Verissa is the most vulnerable

Do you remember when you said tokens make the event becomes luck-dependent and the winner must have to keep all tokens, I told you to check the score difference of last year.

He posted the leaderboard of last year not only himself, but also one of the Live finalists, why? because I THINK he wanted to say it is possible to save all 6 tokens if the best player makes the every effort.

Even The Stage 5 in this year has been shortened from 90 hours to 72 hours, but it is Ok for the best player. By the calculation, the player who EVEN THOUGH had used all his tokens, he CAN only win around 4000 candies ( 2 episodes?) at last when the best player non-stop playing 24 hours.

"If the time is too short in a Stage, such as 12 hours, then the best player would not have sufficient time to counter the power of tokens. If the stage is long enough, the best player absolutely has sufficient time to catch up with the players who have used tokens."

The best player still can play the game 24 hours non-stop or 8 hours daily. What will happen if the best player play 10 hours daily during this 3-day Stage 5? If this is a job, 10 hours daily is not too harsh 😆😆

I trust data more than intuition, so I am a fan of Christine.

Nice point! It does seem like it should be highly unlikely for anyone to keep all 6 tokens to the last round. As competitive as the fifth round is, I could even see it being common for the very best players to need several tokens to get through round 5 successfully.

Im with you on late entries during first few rounds. But come stage 4/5 I’ve got a feeling it might end in disaster. After last year it was my plan to do late entries for stage 4 and 5. But now with the token situation I think I’ve changed my mind.

Thank you for the information. This kind of information will hopefully help be bring my Cornflower fail game back into action in the second qualifier group. It's obvious from all the posts shared here that late entry works better than ever this year!

I wanted to highlight that even previous live contestants (even the mighty Ken) are at risk and might have to use 1 or 2 tokens to get to stage 6.

I know Giggs and Hayden have used this forum. Other live contestants maybe not done the calculations and join stage 5 later and don’t have required time to catch up without using tokens.

So it would appear Verissa is the most vulnerable

Nice point! It does seem like it should be highly unlikely for anyone to keep all 6 tokens to the last round.

it being common for the very best players to need several tokens to get through round 5 successfully

Do you remember when you said tokens make the event becomes luck-dependent and the winner must have to keep all tokens, I told you to check the score difference of last year.

I trust data more than intuition, so I am a fan of Christine.

Perhaps some points I think wrong, please correct me🙇

You can only take part in All Stars if it shows up in your game. If you don't see it there is no way to join, I am sorry.

1st screenshot - stage 5 after 3 hours

2nd screenshot - stage 5 after 24 hours

3rd screen shot - stage 6 after 24 hours and shows the highest score of all the leaderboards (Ken)

Calculator screenshot - shows total score by Daniela Silva if all 6 tokens used during the opening 3 hours of stage 5.

Something else to bear in mind after 18 hours of stage 5 Daniela had approximately 3 hours rest.
