I figured this was coming soon but I'd hoped it wouldn't be for several more episodes. Just learned that I have one more episode before it's potentially my last.

However I got first place in the All Stars knockout (qualifier? don't remember)

yesterday, so how does this affect my progress in the tournament moving forward? What should I do now?

Oh wow. If you just want to be somewhat competitive, and you're actually able to watch lots of ads on Sweet Cinema, I have found that if you start with color bomb and striped/wrapped boosters on every Star Tournament level, you can actually win most of them with no other boosters. So when I play at a more casual speed, watching ads for extra moves/boosters, lives, etc., and using none of my gold bars or saved boosters at all, I'm able to go through about 100 levels in a big 5 or 6 hour session. That's enough for probably at least 10,000 points, which should make you able to have a respectable showing. It's only when you want to go fast to have a chance of winning where you need the inventory.

But admittedly that requires knowing the tricks to get the most out of the Star Tournament levels. Some of them have interesting approaches needed to get through them with a high percentage of success. One of the things I like about the Star Tournament is that the levels there seem so much fairer and more intellectually stimulating than most of the levels they're creating these days.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond @Nobody1. Trust that I have zero illusions of winning anything! I just was questioning whether to keep playing at all or if it's simply time to pack it in. I'd planned to quit at 20k but kept plugging along. So to be very clear I have no prospects of winning or even making any final rounds at all, and I think the misunderstanding is me not expressing myself well (like mixing up Star Tournament with All Stars Tournament). I'm sorry for that.

I'm wondering more as a more casual player of 1 or 2 episodes/day. I haven't spent a dime either, but do watch an embarrassing number of adverts each day. It's quite the addiction for sure.

I wish you all the luck and skill necessary to do well in All Stars and I look forward to your updates if I'm still around.
I don't want to hate this game, although there have been many times in the last decade of playing that I've indeed intensely hated this game and the time I feel robbed of. So essentially I'm just trying to sort out next steps after reaching this milestone. I'm kinda surprised and disappointed that there was no reward for making it this far haha.

I feel like a rather large inventory is generally needed to make it to the live finals as one of the winning 10. I have amassed a pretty large inventory (close to 20,000 gold bars, and 350 each of UFOs and party boosters, along with an essentially unlimited number of color bombs and striped/wrapped). I did that without spending any cash, by watching lots of ads, winning episode races, and filling gold chocolate boxes. I worry this might not be enough to be competitive; I do suspect that more inventory is necessary if you're past the earlier levels, and perhaps especially at the end of the map. It seems like Christine is able to spend much less than I expect to in order to be competitive, perhaps because she is on earlier levels, perhaps because she's simply much better than me, or perhaps both. So starting from earlier on the map could help, but it's too late at this point to amass even enough inventory for lower levels at this point. I think it is necessary to have quite a bit saved up already to have a chance.

Regardless of inventory, it will be necessary not only to play lots of levels, but also to play them very fast. Christine has mentioned a scoring rate of about 6500 blue candies per hour. If you want to win, you will need to at least be very close to this speed, and perhaps even faster. I am curious if this speed is even possible in the Star Tournament, but don't want to waste resources trying it yet. I intend to make a short run at full speed in round 4 to see what I think is possible, and if I really have a chance to compete or not. At the moment, I'm not sure if I can be competitive or not.

Remember, it's HARD to win this! Over 10 million competitors, only 10 winners! No one should feel bad if they can't keep up.

I've had the opportunity to look at Star Tournament now and I don't think it's tenable for a player like me @Nobody1. It seems like progression will heavily rely on an enormous inventory which frankly I don't have, after having it wiped out TWICE in 2025. So we players who essentially live paycheque to paycheque, only accumulating enough inventory for one episode at a time, come to a forced close at this point it seems.

Do you see any way for a different scenario for me? Are you aware of any players who've made it worth their time to continue when they don't have the inventory to logically do so?

Blue candies in the Star Tournament levels count the same as new levels for All Stars. So just click on the star and play levels there, and you can continue to progress in All Stars.

I qualified and got through the first knockout round using the Star Tournament levels, as did others here. It works and can be somewhat effective. A few of the Star Tournament levels have good counts of blue candies, and in general they don't seem bad.
