Playing on two devices: experiences and tips

I'm currently playing my main account on iPad and iPhone and am trying to figure out how the game behaves if we do play on two devices, either successively (log out before logging in on the other device) or simultaneously (both accounts open and connected to the server). The latter is forbidden by competition rules, but my guess would be that does not break the general Terms and Conditions of play. Does anyone know this for sure? Has anyone got any tips, as I'm a bit of a newbie on this one, though I will post my findings here when I figure them out.

Edit June 29th:

Here is a summary of my finding so far:

Some events are device specific and may only show up on one device: eg Critter Catch, Baker's box. These events can be played offline and the prizes claimed are added to the device on which you claim them
I think if you open both devices simultaneously on a Monday morning you will receive identical events in synch, so that is probably advisable to do (after the Server update, 9am UK time Monday mornings)
Leaderboard events synch almost immediately. If you play the same level simultaneously on two devices only one score gets added to the leaderboard.
Candy Royale disappears or starts again at the beginning if you open the game on a second device while the first device is still logged on
For most players I would recommend to never open the app on both devices simultaneously since this can lead to surprising and confusing results

For experienced players:

It is possible to keep a win streak and the super charger if you follow this sequence:

If you see you cannot pass a level: Leave the game open, this can be done on the screen that invites you to pay gold for extra moves. Do not press "give up".
Open the game on device 2. If you see the "supercharger lost" screen, close the app without pressing the "continue" button and reload it.
Pass the level on either device, whichever is the easiest or "cheapest" option, make sure the pass is registered and you moved on to the next level and are connected to the server.
Close the app on both devices
The super charger and win streak should show up next time you log in on either device.

The above action also works if for any reason you lose connection to the server, such as if an ad hangs up for you. Open and pass the same level on a second device and make sure the server registers this. This should help keep your win streak intact.

Baker's box is completely separate on both devices. You earn spoons separately, and claim the rewards separately.

Is the layout of cookies in the FIRST baker’s box same in two devices?

This will be my final update on this thread for a while since I'm about to delete on one device as it has used up its boosters inventory.

This Monday morning I logged into both accounts and got exactly the same events.

So this is a definite finding:

Baker's box is completely separate on both devices. You earn spoons separately, and claim the rewards separately. So you can make the 25 gold bars twice as well, but of course to do so you have to finish two boxes, so that is twice the work, not a cheat.

Other events such as Season Pass (I have the old version) can be claimed on either device, so choose carefully which one. The progress does synch, so you only complete it once. The chocolate box is the same as well. If you play offline those events will continue to add up what you win and will synch when you come back online. I would not recommend trying to play both devices offline and then trying to synch. I fear that might really mess things up and confuse the server. I haven't tried it.

Team Quest and Live Leaderboards: There is indeed a time delay with the synching mechanism, as MannyFae pointed out earlier in this thread, so this morning I saw evidence of this when loading the two leaderboards on the second device. I didn't catch it in a screenshot for the football event, but here are the two screenshots for Team Quest:

They did synch within a minute.

It's great to hear you are experiencing the same. I agree it's dangerous. By the way I've just received the super charger and that seems to also stay intact so long as we pass on either device. I had failed but was on the pay gold or watch an ad to play on screen when I opened the app on device no. 2. Oddly when I opened the game on device no.2 I got this:

I did NOT click on "continue" but closed the app, then watched one ad and passed the level on device no.1. Since then the super charger has been available on both devices.

Hi @christinewupp. Thanks for informing me about the scenario.

Yesterday, in my most recent livestream, I kept my second device (mobile) on as a backup while I progressed levels on my Windows 11 platform, watching as my streak grew to 3950.

The mobile platform was already behind in sync, and when I clicked on the current level as displayed on mobile, it stated that I have already lost my win streak. But on the Windows 11 platform, my win streak is intact.

Upon reloading the app on mobile, my win streak and my progress is restored. Nevertheless, it can be dangerous, as it can register an unusual loss of streak or the double color bomb being unusually lost.

Update from this morning's little test.

I carried on playing Candy Royale on the apparently easier device, the iPhone, to the finish and won 87 gold. Gold bars will synch instantly when connected to the server, no problem there.

Closed the game and reopened the game on the iPad after I finished CR on the iPhone. It took me to play one older level to synch all my events. These are the two screenshots taken at the same time:

Of interest, apart from the gold balance: Team Quest shows up only on iPad, the scratch event seems to be asleep on the iPad, possibly because it can only be active on one device at a time. The Football event is in synch. By the way I have seen my score go down (!) instead of up, once when I was trying out what happens if we play and pass the same level on both devices, so that certainly doesn't work as a cheat. There is a slight but unimportant discrepancy in the episode race which does not surprise me.

But to answer your original question @__mulliganaceous__:

Yes, you can use this method to save a failing win streak.

However this is for experts only and I would not advise it for people who don't understand the algorithms well. I also add here that all of today's posts will get edited and shortened over the next day to make this thread more community friendly.

Our win streak is apparently stored at the server, so it will synch. It took me some time and two attempts at opening and closing the app to get it to synch. As @MannyFae pointed out there is a time lag, so that can be unnerving and look like you lost your win streak, but when the two devices do synch the higher win streak will show up. I now have a discrepancy of just one level:

This is the sequence of what I did:

I played on device 1 until I saw I would fail the level
I opened the app on device 2 and passed the level. (It was easier on device 2, but otherwise I could have used a different strategy to pass it)
I made 100% sure I had contact with the server on device 2
I closed device 1 without finishing the level
I played a few more levels on device 2 passing them as well (unlikely to be necessary, but it's what I did)
I opened to app on device 1 and checked I had connected to the server and synched by playing and losing one previous level

As I said. This will all get edited out tomorrow.

I will now have one more go at closing down the app on device 1 before playing on device 2, as this is what would happen if we encountered a glitch or connection problem. I'll add the finding after that.

Added later: Yes, that works too. I kept the win streak. So this would be a way to help anyone who encountered a glitch, such as an infinite looping and more importantly those whose device closed down due to any other reason: Open and pass the same level on a different device and your win streak could be saved. Good to know!

I have always been a proponent of the theory. I suspect that some other events and features come with a difficulty modifier as well.

Another factor that could be involved here. I mostly play new levels on one device and use the second one as a support device, switching between devices from time to time. I've noticed that switching to a device I haven't used to play new levels in a while makes the levels seem easier. This needs more testing, though.

Synchronization between devices is laggy, which is what makes the basis of numerous tricks. I am guessing that after a while both devices will show a win streak of 4.

Instead (see my previous post) I now find myself to question if the algorithms are innately different just because we have activated Candy Royale. A few others have commented on this previously but I always discounted the theory. However this now is the second level that is impassable on the iPad (Candy Royale activated)

Same player, same skill, same strategy in the iPhone (Candy Royale isn't showing)

Is this game really this devious and rigged?

Plot twist: Now that I have passed the level I'm seeing Candy Royale on the iPhone as well.

That's a great question @__mulliganaceous__ . I was going to finish my Elite Candy Royale before testing this out, but the first level of the new episode left me like this, and that's after playing one party popper!

So that was my win streak gone unless I played another and decided to try open the app on the other device - in offline mode - in order to see if this level was winnable. I passed it on the iPhone but as I was offline I had to reload and connect to server. I made sure I was connected by sending a few lives to my friends, which the app won't allow if we are not connected. Then and only then I quit from the above screen on the iPad by closing down the app. I reloaded the app in the iPad. It did start me off at the next level. However as @MannyFae suggested Candy Royale had disappeared. I am sorry to also report that my win streak was now showing as zero. However, on the iPhone, where I passed the level it's currently showing at 4. So now I will play a few levels without losing any in order to win Candy Royale: It disappeared, yes, but it didn't register me as having lost it. So it's still there in my events folder to be restarted again. I will come back to answer your question about the win streak after that definitively. It does seem odd to have different win streaks showing on my two devices:

Can it be used to defend against losing a streak. For example, on device 1 your app reset, got softlocked, or faced an Oops (replaced with Lucky Moment in most cases). You switch to device 2 and play the same level.

Here is the question? Will you lose your win streak and crown anyways? And if so, how will you know?

Have you seen my achievement thread over in the Candy Corner? I've found a fun new game: The frog vs the fishes. I'm enjoying the game at the levels I'm at and hope they won't get rid of them just yet. Well at least I've got there before they've done it.

I am currently playing on two devices. I don't know if it breaks any rules, but playing on two devices simultaneously is exploitable in so many ways that I had to impose restrictions on myself to avoid it snowballing into outright cheating. One tip I would like to share though is to not play Candy Royale on two devices simultaneously as it will disappear.
