Why do I keep losing sound when I initiate play?

When I close and open the app sound will stop working.  If I restart my phone it fixes it the first time I open the app, but when I close and open it again, the sound stops working.

    Hello there,
    Thank you for your prompt reply and efforts to help me.  I’m not sure what you mean by the game app version, but I am using an iPhone.
    Hope this helps a little.  It is SO frustrating having to turn my phone off and on if I exit the game to check an email for instance.  When I resume play- sound has disappeared.
